The point of insurance is to mitigate risk from catastrophic events. Like rolling your car because your tire was 2psi low or killing someone with your car. Its not really structured to be a maintenance tool for minor door dings.

This extends to health insurance too. If you yanks could figure out that medical insurance should be for catastrophic events and not for routine check ups, broken arms or boner meds, you would have the perfect health care system.

I have some of the best healthcare money can buy, and contrary to whatever rag you get your “news” out of… anytime I need it, it’s there. I do get frequent routine checkups as that’s the best way to avoid a catastrophic event, which is far superior than having to deal with it after it happens. Never had the need for “boner meds”. I’ll leave those with you.

Maybe if you didn’t have to wait 3-6mo to get an appt with your doc, you’d not have catastrophes lol. Same day appt are thing here, whenever you need it. I greatly prefer that.

How embarrassing is it for you that I agree with you? I'm not a Brit but yes Canadian health care is a broken mess and I hate it with a passion. I would choose a private free market system every time. I'm just saying that even the US health care system misunderstands what health care insurance should really be.
