Pretty crazy this was sitting on the lot. Congratulations! And MT for the win.
If it makes you feel any better, you didn't "lose" the seatbelt lottery; the M seatbelts only come with the Competition version. The MT is worth it!!

Congrats on the good timing. Love chalk. Love the whole car actually. It’s a fantastic well engineered platform. But personally I would not buy one because “does it stimulate me visually” is first thing on my decision list when choosing a car. The G80 just doesn’t do it for me so to quote Kevin O’Leary…. For that reason, I’m out.

Seeing these new builds in Chalk or Brooklyn Grey really gets my Dad vibes buzzing. I sit here with my coffee in my hand and shake my head saying, kids these days. Am I right in guessing that it's the millennials that want colorless cars? If so, does that mean when Gen Zers hit their mid thirties we're going to see some obnoxious swing the other way (like the skinny jeans to mom jeans thing), with pastel colors showing up everywhere? Oh wait, that's the new M2 I'm describing. I guess the Gen Zers are starting to come into the market.

That was a separate program called "Individual Composition". It is a selection of specific custom options that was available on certain models, which never included M3/M4, at least in the US.
Individual paint has and is available, subject to ordering deadlines for MY changeovers--for example, the last day to order a 2023 M4 in an Individual color was back in December (the 9th if I remember right), to guarantee production by February. But I remember the announcement you're referencing, and my individual paint request was approved by the factory about 2 weeks later. |

I love it, congrats! I’m going to order chalk if I can ever get an allocation for an individual paint.

Congrats on the ride, PBR, you better come out to some local get togethers. Don't be depriving us of this stunner!!
I think the black badge definitely fits the color perfectly. The chrome badge is just an easy way to denote that its a manual. Drop me a DM with your insta, if youre interested in our Bay Area G8X Instagram chat. We have about 50 local G8X owners in it.

had some H&R 12mm spacers laying around that worked so I threw them on:
And then this afternoon's project was a CSL replica grill, very nice quality for the most part and perfect fitment. Biggest pain was getting the OEM grill out, I ended up busting one of the tabs, I hope I don't ever have to remove this one because those tabs do NOT want to release. The replica grill shipped with a really poor abs badge mount in plain matte black, so I decided to repurpose my OEM badge mount with the black IND M3 badge I had for the front. It took a bit of filing/sanding to get it to fit ok, I'm not 100% happy with it and it's just affixed with some double sided 3m tape for the moment, but it passes the 3ft rule for now. |
