You’re really calling an RS6 a pig?? Lol.

Rs6 is competing w/ an M5 touring not an m3.

Both cars are clearly impressive.

The RS6 Avant out-weighs the Mercedes wagon. On Car and Driver’s scales, a pre-facelift Mercedes-AMG E 63 S weighed 4697 pounds, while Audi’s wagon weighed 5031 pounds.

Wish the M3 touring was coming to the US though. Great comparo but really the only enthusiast car you can take skiing up to the mountains with a family and all the luggage is the RS6 Avant (aside from the E63). I saw one up in VT a few weeks ago with a ski box and it was gooooorgeous. It isn’t always about the straight line acceleration!

Okay thanks…I have no idea why people are quoting misinformation after it’s been confirmed as incorrect. So that’s why I was wondering what the hell was going on. Appreciate it

S58 is no joke. Absolute monster powertrain and hooked up to MXDrive…it’s impressive! My M4 woudl just pull pull pull!

RS6 is a beast but the ‘class below’ just scalped it somewhat.

If you want an authoritative side by side write up, then the latest EVO has a great comparative feature on these two. The M3 impresses them the most for its level of dynamism and engagement, unsurprisingly.

It's just a pity that, as the Carwow sound check shows, these models in Europe are really suffering now: the M3 is sounding almost reedy and the RS6 has the soft limiter which restricts you in real-world terms to throttle blips and a lowdown grumble.

I’m about to grab a G80 and put a ski/bike rack on it 🤷‍♂️

Not so sure the RS6 is the only “car” that can take a family skiing.

This is the main reason for ditching my F82 and grabbing a G80. Better Winter driving Fun

dry weight, translates to weight when empty. can't race without oil, gas, coolant, etc.

maybe someone out in the world can put their RS6 on some corner balance scales.

I’m a BMW guy through and through, but I’ll take the RS6 here.

I try not to leave negative posts and I understand a lot of people, especially younger than me like the G81. No offense, looks are subjective. An RS6 parked next to my M2 CS, and it’s the only car I’ve thought “that car might be better than mine”. Everything else that looks better to me and performs better is less practical, except the RS6 and maybe the M5 CS.
We have similar thoughts, I love my m3 cs, but blue RS6 though, that will be my streets and family car for sure. Who care about the drag race, I would get Tesla for that

I’ll go a step further and ask how many ///M cars will actually see a track? Or G8x on track? One thing I notice in this sub is a lot less track talk then previous generations.

I want a do it all car that I can put my family in and go skiing/MTBing/Hiking. The G80 is that car for me at the moment.

The results are exactly as expected given the two cars have pretty much the same power-to-weight ratio (yes, the real-world weight of the RS6 is closer to 5,000lb). From a dig, it all boils down to which car gets the better launch. Once rolling, they are evenly matched. That S58 is the benchmark in its class and it shows. These are however very different cars, with the Audi being a much more luxurious, roomy and cushy ride. It does what it is intended to do extremely well while looking the business. The G81 is the only G8X I would consider, it looks quite decent from the rear 3/4 view, but sadly it is not available on this continent.

I suppose it’s the “only” enthusiast car I would buy for skiing haha. The G80 is too small even with a ski rack for all the ski gear and luggage, at least for my family of 4 but is an awesome ride indeed. I wouldn’t take my F90 M5C and have been taking the ‘23 X7 up to VT but I need to get a ski box for that also. Thought I might pick up an RS6 Avant for my winter car. First world problems.

We try to pack light and have one son so less gear. The wife would rather take the x3 soon to be x5 but I’m fine with driving the sedan up to New England. It works for a weekend trip any longer and I agree we need a larger ride. First world problems indeed. Haha

the rs6 is quite possibly one of the most disappointing releases from Audi in a long time...

I remembered to see this review, this explains a lot!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJxVwnMFmq0

RS6 is at 270hp/ton and M5c is at 340hp/ton. Another league i would say.
