As an owner of a 2021 Audi RS7, its a blast to drive. Super fast and solid handling. Yes its heavier than the M3 but the power is sufficient however I had it tuned to Unitronic Stage 1+ to 760 hp at home with their software and OBD cable and it really boosts the low to medium range torque and hp well.

My wife has a tuned and bolt on RS6, it's a great car. Honestly I expected the M3 to totally walk it because the RS6 is much heavier. But on a recent track day at VIR my wife was driving the RS6, when we entered the back straight we both nailed it. She was in front of me and walked away from my bolt on G80 comp. It was pretty awesome and the rs6 sounds amazing.

It is crazy, because it’s wrong. Video shows a 210 kg weight difference between the two, which is 462 lb.

video is wrong then. multiple sources confirm these screenshots. I think the video is quoting the weight for the A6 or maybe a dry weight instead of comparing curb weights. If someone can post something more factual then I am happy to be corrected.

Agreed, video is wrong. What a pig the RS6 is.

I will take the looks and the sound of an Audi. But for the price m3 is a bargain in comparison or any performance car.

I have both and both are tuned. (RS7 and G80). The G80 on e35 is faster than RS7 on 93. But the RS7 is fun to drive too. Even though it’s heavier the four wheel steering helps it handle very wheel. Feels lighter than it is.

Performance aside, what really impressed me was the braking test. Those brakes on the Audi are massive, seeing them in person probably the biggest brakes I've seen on a production car, crazy how the M3 stopped quicker despite having much smaller brakes, possible due to Carbon Ceramic?

The Audi is 871 pounds heavier. I dont think it has bigger brakes than the Urus or the Bentley Continental GT Speed. Both at 440mm 17.3" rotors.

Tie expected. Not surprised.

10hp = 100 lbs = .1 seconds in 1/4 (generally 10-13 second cars this is very accurate, all else equal)
Where did you find 900 lb?
The video shows 2075 Kg vs 1865 Kg which is 210 Kg or 462 lbs difference.

Were saying the video is wrong. Check Higgs post in this thread. Post number five on this page.

They should have swapped the cars round each time, just to normalise any difference in the track surface. Or run two of the same model against each other a few times to see if the track surface made a difference. It looks like it's an airfield track, and if so, then the surface could be pretty patchy with different repairs of different quality at different places.

Even so, it's a very interesting comparison - given the much lower cost of the BMW I would have expected it to lose by a substantial margin. My brother-in-law has the RS4 Avant and even 'though I've owned a number of 3 Series Tourings, I'd have to say that the Audi interior is better, and is probably the only black interior that works for me - I'm not usually a fan of black. AS you can see, I preferred my Tourings in less funereal clothing:

And no, that beige interior didn't show the dirt like you might expect, even when I put my MTB in there:

And interestingly, my previous Jeep Grand Cherokee couldn't fit the MTB inside without taking the front wheel off (the bike, not the car). Which on a bike with hydraulic disc brakes is a pain. Give me a Touring/Avant over an SUV any day...

And finally, no - I'm never going to buy a BMW with the chipmunk grill, so that's the M3 Touring off my list, sadly.

If I had to pick one I go with the Audi just based on looks. Looks so darn good.
Beautiful cars you have.

I’ve wanted to see a BMW M3 wagon in the US for a long time. We aren’t getting this one, and I am not upset about it. It’s a fantastic car and I really wanted to like it, but man it’s just not working for me, especially sitting next to the Audi.

I’m a BMW guy through and through, but I’ll take the RS6 here.

I try not to leave negative posts and I understand a lot of people, especially younger than me like the G81. No offense, looks are subjective. An RS6 parked next to my M2 CS, and it’s the only car I’ve thought “that car might be better than mine”. Everything else that looks better to me and performs better is less practical, except the RS6 and maybe the M5 CS.

The Audi really squats when accelerating. That surely isn’t ideal.

Low 11 1/4 mile times is amazing.

Can’t imaging hiw aweome the M5 Touring will be. That’s my next rig for sure.

They always do these comparisons in the rain and cold and that likely has an impact.

The RS6 is only 200 kg heavier than the M3 touring, the stats are in the video, which makes the M3 performance even more impressive.
