Anyone have this set up with Active downpipes and a non resonated mid pipe, would love to hear it . I have the mid pipe on my g83 and was thinking of doing the downpipes.

Just a warning that the dealers around here will most likely have an issue with you swapping out downpipes, warranty-wise. If you're ok with that then go for it.

thanks as full cat and no CEL didn't think it would be an issue but appreciate the heads up. They had no issue with the mid pipe on previous M cars

If you go with GESI my dealer was even ok to install it for me when I was studing this path. But anything other (non-GESI) he said he cannot. When it comes to warranty its always tricky as all of us know.

BTW: I do not know how this setup will sound but its unusuall for anyone to go down the path of AA Gesi catted DP as those are quite expensive.

Agreed my SA said the same thing! I'm waiting until I have a year left on warranty.

I’m going with Mad Catted 200 and AA single mid pipe resonated. Shipment on its way so within 1wk I can describe you this setup. Would expect your 400 gesi DP will be something more toned in sound that Mad 200 one but on other note Im going with resonated mid pipe vs you non resonated. End result I would not be surprised if its going to be identical. Also have valve controller so can open the valve fully.

Expecting low frequency sound, well rounded exhause note. No rasp, no high pitch screeming. Will see :-)

I’ll let you know in a bit. Getting my AA catted DP installed right now. I’ve had an Awron valve controller, Dinan axleback, and evolution racewerks midpipe setup for about 1.5 months.

Curious to see what the catted DP does as far as sound with my current setup.

Midpipes don't touch the primary cats so they shouldn't have an issue with that. Downpipe swap is swapping out the primary cats so even if there's no CEL, they still may be concerned. It's always a crapshoot.

I’ll try posting videos tomorrow but the AA gesi catted downpipe added an increased roar and volume that is very, very noticeable. Cold starts are violently loud on my system with no resonators.

Generally it's recommended to get a resonated midpipe if you're going to swap the downpipes, you may want to stick with just a midpipe or consider an axleback swap as well.

The sound isn’t bad at all after the cold start. It’s the actual cold start that’s violent. Going to have to jump to an unlock/flash setup with cold start delete soon.
