No Production number yet for me.

Anyone know the difference between X3 and X3AT codes (full leather vs full leather Anthracite). I'm worried with the wrong selection here I will miss out on all the unique CS interior touches and just end up with a black interior.

Pretty sure X3 is just the code for full merino and AT is the anthracite color/scheme. Not even a selectable option when ordering.

Yeah the order guide had the header weird. It’s the same thing.

I can’t wait to see some of these getting delivered. Seeing it in the colors that weren’t released, for launch, will be cool.

I also love the no PPF argument. “I’m not spending $8k for the next guy.” Love it. “I can live with a few rock chips.”

What you’re not going to want to live with, is idiots backing into your car, when you have no control over it. Is it going to happen, ever? Eh, it’s possible.

The M2, backed into, ppf removed. Nothing.

I mean PPF isn’t a shield, so they bumped into you very light. Otherwise, you are getting a new bumper.

But someone did hit my iX very slightly and if i had PPF, there would be no paint scratch on my car, so you make a fair point.

But I’ve had an accident at 10 mph in a 435i and had no paint damage and I needed a new hood and front bumper from just the faintest bend. PPF isn’t preventing that.

5 mph bumpers aren't the 5 mph bumpers they used to be.

Another byproduct of PPF, is it looking like this, after 11,606 miles, and a 198 mile drive in the pouring rain, without being washed. No scratches or swirls. The second video shows you what happens when you get scratches in the PPF. This, or just leave it in the sun.

I’m willing to take my chances. Besides, I live in the countryside and don’t use my fun cars for commuting. I do PPF certain cars depending on the complexity of the paint and potential cost to repair (liquid metal silver, for example).

That’s definitely another thing I didn’t mention. A color that’s just impossible to match. Dravit is no picnic.

I got this with 131 miles on the car, and I was sick to my stomach. I went to my buddies paint shop, and he said, nope, gotta paint the hood and the front bumper at a minimum. It’ll never match. “I’ll tell you one thing, if this car ever needs paint work, don’t bring it to me. I don’t want to deal with it.”

I had this covered up the best I could and PPFd over. Solidified my purpose for getting PPF done. Pissed me off to no end.

Germany
Sapphire Black Metallic (wanted Frozen Solid White but using the car as a daily driver, too flashy with those visible carbon "stripes" in the bonnet)
Bronze Wheels
Sport tires (Cup 2 are great for the track but suck for normal street usage unless you live in a hot climate)
CCB with red calipers
Engine strut (optional in Germany, costs 1100 EUR).

Stupid question: I am number one at my German dealer and ordered the car on January 25th and while I already have a BMW Order Number, BMW doesn't have a production date yet because the production planning isn't finished yet (so the dealer says). He expects a production date around mid of February.

When did you learn about your production week? Thanks.

There is only one interior available and only four exterior colors.
A friend of mine has very close ties to BMW Munich and even he wasn't able to get a special color he wanted. Seems to have something to do with the carbon bonnet. He wanted the CCB in black, also not possible.

So basically, you're stuck with the one interior and the four exterior color choices. Only interior change you can have is getting the steering wheel in leather.

"Stuck with..." Those are some decent colors; both signal green and frozen pure white are unique and look really good on the car with the exposed bonnet. Not every car needs to be like Porsche PTS 1 of 1 color.

I want to use my M3 CS as a daily driver and only Sapphire Black is a viable choice for me since those carbon "stripes" in the bonnet are "too much" for a daily driver over here in Germany. Sad but true.

I love Frozen Solid White, this would be my color of choice but I cannot pick it, unless BMW would offer an option to paint the whole carbon bonnet in the color.

I ask for an allocation in Italy January 13th (before the release date), then I confirmed my M3 CS G80 last Thursday February 2th, my doubt was the color (none of the 4 colors I really like) and after 2-3 days thinking I have decided: Brookling Grey, gold wheels and CCB with Red calipers.

The day after my dealer contacted me and gave me order number and production week (13 / 2023), car is expected to arrive final of April or first/second week of May.

I can’t wait to park the new M3 CS G80 near my actual M3 CS (San Marino Blue)

I ordered signal green, black wheels, with Red steel calipers. I don’t have a production number as of yet but it seems like a lot of us in the states don’t just yet.

Was told it could be six months to a year before I see a car.

Contacted my German dealer yesterday. Got my order number from BMW on January 31st but as of yesterday, my dealer claims he still doesn't have a production week. So weird.

Even weirder: Another sales person I talked a few months ago from basically the same dealership (they have different locations) called me yesterday to offer me a M3 CS, delivery this year (no details). He told me I need to decide latest next week. So the car doesn't seem to be in high demand in Germany or BMW plans to produce enough cars to satisfy all (German) customers. This is why I wonder even more why I don't have a production date yet.
