With regular metallic paint, a loaded comp X is $112k. That’s with CCBs. Paint and CCBs will be extra on the CS.

Well, guess it’s official. BMW has unequivocally lost the plot in my mind. Guess I’ll be saving for a Porsche from now on.

couldnt agree more, i was excited about this cs hoping weight savings would bring it to 3600-3700lbs range yet it left me disappointed @118k with out ccb standard. Wish they left us with interior color options at least, yet they did us dirty just like the with the m5cs all over again, at least with m5 weight saving was greater than 75lbs but that car didnt make sense either although thats a different topic..

I just saw the standard paint colors are BG and BSM, I hadn't seen that the first time. I was assuming it was like a Jahre, where all 4 colors were going to be individual.

The Jahre package, is about the same cost as CCBs, and I think that would apply here. CS center console, custom bicolor buckets, carbon front lip, etc.

The standard manual, is dialed back to 473hp, because of the clutch, and doesn't come in xDrive. The xDrive Comp is 503hp, and the CS is 543.

It's a twin disc already. They're pretty much at the limit of it being street drivable, with the current size bell housing, and going with a clutch that people would never buy the car with.

Ask G80_Soom where it got him. The next clutch is likely sintered iron and it's going to be a light switch. Which means it's not slippable. Its either engaged, or its not. I spent decades trying to perfect DSMs, with manual AWD drivetrains. There isn't really an in between.

i always thought they measure cars with 1/4-1/2 tank of gas but 3915lbs for m3cs would mean thats with full tank ?
Normally when quoting wet weight, they quote it with the fuel tank 90% full.

lol at thinking bmw wants to spend the money to further develop a manual. they didn't even want to continue developing their dct trans like the supercar brands are.

zf8 is effective and cheap. fits in everything. not as engaging but... bmw doesn't care. most people that buy these cars are not on the forums, modifying their cars, or care about shift feel. just put in 'D' and go.

at 90% fuel my car stock would sit 3890 at the scale, which would mean m3cs at 3915 is nun but a rip off

it may be "75lbs" lighter but just sunroof and buckets add up to that lol

rather order a individual m3 with ccb and have option to choose a color for your buckets, same weight and save $25k talk about a budget cs!

If we are talking about the same dealer, I’m pretty sure they’ve committed to not selling cars over msrp. I feel like that’s a relevant piece of info. I’ve got a finger on the pulse here too and it doesn’t bother me that much. If they want to spec a car that they can do a little press and marketing with before they sell it at msrp to one of the many folks who will jump at it, it doesn’t seem like that big of a deal.

Still prefer your wheels although this is a good alternative if you don't want to go up sizes.

Definitely…the additional cost would be a rounding issue. We used to build JDM cars in highschool…and RPSCarbon clutch was ~$2,000 back in the early 2000s and I think it was good for >1,000hp and 1,000ftlb tq. (Don’t quote me on that). Point is this excuse that a manual tranny and clutch can’t handle the power seems very unlikely. Would be a small incremental cost at best.

My guess is the math says the take rate isn’t high enough.

Only recent activity that bucks the trend is the 911 GT3…not sure that is apples to apples, but I think the Manual take rate on that was >50%.

$118k with no carbon brakes seems a little steep. But I’m sure they’ll move the limited number they are producing.

Saw the comment on driveability…which I agree with 100%.

The RPS clutch was like a leg press machine. Reminds me of my 997 911 GT2, I have to stand on the clutch to shift. It does make for a hell of an engaging car though 🤪.

Everybody gangsta until you see the xDrive badge at the back, like as if it’s a 330i or something.

If I can find the gold 827s for anywhere near what I can find the black ones, I'll definitely be grabbing a set!
