To those who own or are soon to own, how was the allocation process? Would love to drive one of these. Also, what's the lease payment look like?

As far as allocation goes, 200-240 cars came to the US. 387 BMW dealers in the U.S. 1 max per dealership only to M certified dealers initially, and then remaining allocations went to dealers based on M sales (still only max of 1 per dealership). Car was announced on May 22nd, dealerships got their allocations the next morning and FBG cars had to be finalized by May 31st. Anyone with an order would have had their production number on May 23rd. Some dealers didn't want to sell their allocation before that, which is how some cars are going to people now that were dealer configured (which is why so many cars have auto buckets, they were misconfigured by dealers prior to selling to customers).

Personally I had my waitlist spot reserved over 18 months ago and I had my production number the morning of May 23rd. My car only seems to be delayed due to the manual carbon bucket seat availability.

Most are going to be purchased second hand. Less than 250 original owners will ever exist

I wasn't a huge believer. But after seeing one in the metal this weekend, a carbon buckets car is a bargain at $215k. Looks so amazingly special in person. It's as if the entire G8x design was made just for this car.

When these cars start going for auction in person (ie when people can see it), they will push towards $300k. I think it's the coolest looking BMW I've ever seen.

$300k
If 992 GT3 tourings are going for 300-400k, after seeing the car, I'm now convinced 250k-300k isn't unreasonable.

992 is so over rated. 992 tourings, no thank you. I'll keep my 991.2

Also on BAT 992 GT Winged cars are being bid to $258 reserve not met.

And that was for an amazing spec. It's about time this nonsense stops. Also they are making plenty of them.

This M4 CSL on the other hand?!! You want one, you gonna have to pay handsomely for it.

how did you get the custom plate so soon? Did you use an existing car? I tried to go onto CA DMV's site and I couldn't get one yet

Yes, I'll need to transfer it. Last year I ordered a custom plate for a different car and after 9 months I cancelled it. So, I ordered this one early and it came in 2 months. Go figure.

How much over MSRP are you guys willing to pay for M4 CSL? I missed out on an allocation at MSRP a few months ago because I was leaning towards the upcoming M3 CS (wish we had more info on it and what to expect) and couldn't decide between the two. Have a few dealerships asking $50K premium and another one $100K that are on the lot but at this point I might just wait until next year and get that M3 CS instead.

I would expect the M3 CS to have the same running gear, same MSRP and same ADMs. Rumors are it will be even more limited potentially.

It's not going to be the cut rate, widely available alternative. M already said it's special cars are going to be more restricted than previously and they have followed through on that.

Thank you ScullyD for the reply.

Congrats to everyone that got their M4 CSL or is yet to take delivery. It's truly a special car. I wish I had reserved one a while ago when I had a chance. I guess if I end up liking it too much I can pick one up in a couple of years from you guys for a hefty premium.
