Not a chance. With the M5 CS, BMW claimed a 230 lb. drop but it was more like 147 lb on C/D scales. I seriously doubt they'd be able to double those savings on the smaller/lighter M3.

I think the looming threat of EVs displacing ICE sports cars is also creating FOMO and a flurry of demand. I know several of my collector friends are busy accumulating the 'best of the last'.

Oh for sure, should have added a disclaimer that this was doubtful. Merely pointing out even IF it loses 300 lbs. The M3CS is still a very heavy vehicle

Question for allocation experts: is the usual situation in play in that only high volume dealers likely to get a look?

Every dealership got at least 1 M5 CS. To get more, it was based on M5 sales over a set period of time

No. Allocations have not been confirmed yet. Dealers might have a "list" of people wanting them, but no allocations have been released.

I've got the first at my local dealership and have heard nothing yet.

No allocations as the car does not (yet) exist.

That's pretty impressive. Is your dealer also sending rocketship rides to the moon as well?

Let's just assume that your sales guy is uninformed. It sounds like you are on the list for a 2023 M3. Those should be able to be ordered in about 2 months.

The M3 CS doesn't begin production until next spring. Production dates will be 3/23 - 2/24.

Also, your signature says you have to car on order. That isn't accurate either. All you have is a spot on the list.
