M3 CS Allocation

Hey all - just wondering if there's been any discussion of dealers with outstanding M3 CS allocations. Wishful thinking, probably, but thought I'd ask. Thanks!

It hasn't even been announced by BMW yet. If you're lucky, you'll find a dealer who's willing to add you to a list and you're near the top. You might want to call around as production will likely be limited.

I mean - you can ask your dealer if they would accept a deposit which would put you at #1 when the car gets released.

In my area, you need to place a non-refundable deposit with a dealer to get on their official "wait list" for an allotment at MSRP. Currently I was told my dealer's wait list is 6 deep for an MY2022, and they have no idea if they'll be receiving any additional MY2022 allotments period. So unless a bunch of people were to drop off the wait list and give up their allotment....or I was willing to pay way over MSRP, my chances of obtaining a MY2022 allotment is practically nil.

This is why I placed a deposit down on a MY2023 back in March after being told I would be first on the MY2023 wait list.

We shall see come end of May or June sometime if this holds true. I have all this in writing so if not, I should at least be able to get my deposit back....

Absolutely possilbe. When I got my '18 M3 CS I heard a rumor that there would be a M5 CS coming in a few years. I called my sales guy and asked if he had a list for the M5 CS. He replied and said that they just started one and I have the first slot. That was at least 2 years before the car was officially announced.

For the G80 M3 I did pretty much the same thing. I've got the first allocation for that car as well now, but will probably pass on it.

There's a difference between being on a list, and getting an allocation. Can't have an allocation for a car that does not exist.

Right, but you can't get an allocation for a limited production car unless you are on a list first (usually).

You are correct (mostly) but that's not what the OP was asking though, he specifically asked about "outstanding M3 CS allocations".

OP is talking about M3cs which is expected to be revealed by BMW in the coming months. Its suppose to start production by march of next year.

They haven't even announced the M4 CSL wich is supposed to be produced from July 2022 to Feb 2023 (if I'm right) It would be strange that they announce the M3 CS before end of summer/fall but not impossible..

True, M4csl would enter production before M3cs. I am expecting BMW to reveal the special edition models as a part of their 50th anniversary celebrations but i might be wrong.

My bad.

Too many threads about getting allocations for already released vehicles, let alone the ones that haven't even been released yet....

Heard from my SA, dealer had already on taking deposits for m3cs and m4 csl. No official reveal yet, but we all know. Ofc dealer knows and looking for make money on it also. So does not hurt to line up a list right? Also the problem is, many people have put their hands on it, either really want the car or just flip it. Plus this allocation, make up things in entire car world. The best way is just checking with your dealer. Probably different dealers will have different stories, but they deal with the car directly.

Thanks for the responses all - both of my go to dealers in the Metro Atlanta area do not have allocations available, but acknowledged the existence of the car (obviously?).

This is a bit odd of an answer.

Allocations aren't available until the car is close to production. Since this car hasn't been officially announced yet there are no allocations anywhere. For example, my dealership won't acknowledge a model until it is officially announced, but they will have a "interest list" for people to get on.

I know, it is pretty much a semantically nightmare of terminology. But, if you want to get a M3 CS, have you asked them if they have a waiting list?

You weren't kidding about the semantic nightmare here - maybe I should have clarified that I'm looking for a dealer who will even put me on an interest list. Both of the aforementioned dealers here don't even have that going yet. I guess they're struggling to even get Comps in at this point, so they're cagey about the CS/CSLs.

It's not semantics, you want to be on a wait list. An allocation is a slot for a car going into production. There can not be an allocation for a car that does not exist.

Just call around and place yourself on a list and drop a deposit if needed. I'm #1 at my dealer. They are unsure if they will or will not get an allocation however. So my deposit is refundable.

Also, I placed myself on their list back in Jan.

Prime example of this is the upcoming Z06. Most dealers had waitlist 20-30 deep well before they even did their press release. Attempting to place yourself on any list was comical by the end of the press release.

Happy Hunting

Agree this one. However, is there possible dealer big boss has the deal with BMW headquarters saying you will be sure get few slots? it is all up to BMW and many other facts. But if there is production line. Some dealers for sure will get some no matter currently the allocation started or not.
