A few pics back from PPF of IND reflector delete, carbon stoneguards (aka mud flaps), carbon side vents, and the silver 827M wheels with 15MM front spacers and 10MM rear (because 295 tire). Now to get the break in miles!

Also, my car shipped with PS4 instead of the specd PSC2R. Pretty disappointed about that and waiting for a response from BMW.

Well
Aria and I drove 1100 km to go visit "Hunter" the CSL. FIRST IMPRESSION: Definately must be seen in person to be appreciated. This is a very imposing car. It looks mean and ready to pounce (hence the nickname). Given it's in a country dealership, I'm told, folks have been coming to visit just to see Hunter, as the word has spread 🌟 Naturally, there are barriers erected restricting drool pouring on the car 🤤 Now we're driving another 1100 km back home waiting for the moment he arrives (but not for a while yet as we're still trying to work out what can be done about the seats) Aria - prior to the trip: I don't know why you're getting one; it's ugly After seeing the car: Still ugly, but I love it 😁 In other news from deep inside BMW HQ (AUS): The 3.0 CSL Homage: One lucky Australian family scored one - BMW is trying to make it compliant to Australian standards. The M3 Touring: Was never meant to be. It was a product of imagination similar to the 1M. Good luck getting one in Australia for the next two years. The M3CS: A wild wild beast even BMW is surprised about More later Also, a very nice 720 for future consideration

I wondered if anything would pick it - you're spot on, it is a Senna for sure 😊 I can't imagine being able to get a Senna anytime soon, hence reference to 720 as a more achievable dream

First outing with the CSL in spirited driving. 60 mile drive through the local canyons. I deliberately chose twistie roads to keep the speeds down and the inputs/feedback high. First, the car feels wide. Not sure if related to seating position or my perception or both, but I don’t have great awareness of car width. I’m sure that will change with seat time.
Second, there is a gap between what I feel in the rear versus the front. The rear gives feedback through the chassis like you would expect, but the front is a little numb. However, this is from the perspective of a driver used to feeling significant amounts of bump steer through the wheel in a car with stiff suspension. This really comes down to calibration as most bump steer feedback is passive. You don’t need to respond with a correction, you feel what the front suspension is dealing with but you took a proper set and your hands are just along for the ride. There are times you need to force a correction but that is rare. The CSL steering feel is not completely absent of feedback and would like to think it will convey when a corrective action is necessary. Need more seat time to figure this out. The race buckets are amazing for OEM and BMW in particular. I am 6’6” and was concerned it wouldn’t work, but there is plenty of adjustment. My only complaint is the cushioning in the lower back area. The foam should be denser as it feels soft. In fact it’s a bit fluffy and when pressed backward the air escapes and refills when pressure relieves so you get this weird suction effect on the lower back. A completely minor annoyance. The slush box. I am amazed at how good the tuning is. In S3, the shifts under load are incredibly similar to DCT. When not under load (ie cruising) it can be obnoxiously jolting but orgasmic when WOT. It was designed specifically for all out driving so adjust accordingly. Lastly suspension. I am surprised how good it is. I expected to install KW v4 Clubsport but am glad I waited on that. Comfort mode is more than capable to handle the canyons. I did play with stiffer settings but was unable to exploit a difference, at least in public roads and during break in.

Thanks buddy - won't be able to post until the evening here and there'll be no real high performance type driving because it still needs to be run-in but just how it feels doing normal-ish type stuff.
