I spoke with a Douglas County supervisor (who happened to have the black plates himself with the same issue) who had already talked with the state about this. Apparently enough people have complained, and the state knows it's a problem (he mentioned something related to magnets during the manufacturing process). He didn't know if they are going to work to fix this or not.

He did offer to order another set of plates for me, so I'm hoping there's a chance the issue has been fixed since I received my plates (about a month ago). I guess I will find out in a few weeks. 🤞

Yes and if you lay the plate on a flat surface you may also see that the edges on the top and bottom of the right side have a wave to them. From the back, you might also see the impression is more shallow at those spots as well. I'm working with a county level supervisor at the moment but it sounds like this will need to get to the state level before anything is done about it.

My plates are not stamped and are good. Are the issues only on stamped plates?

Mine are personalized and not stamped.

Looking at the pic from Macnielseth it looks like regular plates are also not stamped.

I don't remember seeing any defects on mine but I wonder if the plate frame kind of straightens it out when all the bolts are tightened. I have not installed the front plate so I might check that out a little later.

I was told they'd remake mine, again, but I hope this issue is fixed before that happens. I requested an update last week but haven't heard back yet. I'm also in Douglas County and have been communicating with a Supervisor. To date, they have claimed this is the post office's fault. That is clearly not the case.

Replacement plates showed up today, and I'm happy to say they look great!

Not 1000% perfect, but dramatically better than the original set I received. I am more than satisfied.

Mine showed up last Monday and are also much better than the last two sets, no noticeable warping, etc. The local DMV supervisor could not provide any additional details on what was found or fixed. If nothing else, I guess I have some spares to hang on the wall now.
