Very strange race here. Another AWD beast racing a RWD M3. I wish the G80 M3 only came in X-drive...

I kind of agree with you. Personally, I think it should come as MT and XDrive

The electric juggernauts are basically impossible to beat from a dig. I have driven a Taycan Turbo S and it’s mind bending fast off the line .
Had this been an X-Drive M3 with the same mods as this RWD model, I’m fairly sure it would be a dead heat from a dig race , which is very impressive . That cars also 100k more than the M3. Kind of matters. |

The problem with electrical cars is once they take off fast there's nothing follows after that. There is no rumbling and clunking. It brings no excitement.

Close that…..
Must have been that terrible M performance rear wing creating drag and holding it back…….

It did good from a roll, but from a dig I didn't expect any other result. Instant torque and AWD is just lethal.
Now let's see that against an XDrive Tuned XDrives run 0-60 around 2.8 sec and 10.5 - 10.6 1/4 mile @ 130 ish

that's why I don't want one- the driving experience is more than going quick in a straight line

If both were free, I'd take that Tacyon in a heartbeat over that M3. I think the Tacyon is a great looking car and it's a Porsche. I've owned one or two BMW's at a time since 1968 including 3 M5's. I'd take a new M5CS over the Tacyon though.

Exactly. Great utility vehicles for sure, but after test driving two Model S cars, I got the same feeling each time, that launching it got old quick. Most people love it, but it wasn't enough to get me to buy one. Not nearly enough drama

It's ok, Porsche reigns in 2 or 4wd. That BMW is madly tuned and pretty quick on the track I think. Besides 1/4 mile is not really true racing, it's who mashes the pedal faster and has traction. The truth is found on the Nurburgring.

What a great video to highlight just how different Porsche and BMW thinks about what a 4 door car should look like...
And having driven the Taycan (Turbo S and RWD base), I would take either of those over M3 any day and twice on sunday. |

I think the Taycan traps around 130mph. Though the Plaid does 150mph traps for about $60k less and actually beat the M5CS and Blackwing on a lap test. I hope BMW makes a full i4M with 900hp+. In the interim, im predicting my i4M50 will run 11.7 @ 120ish.
