Are These Transport Blocks?

So I took delivery of my 2022 M3 Drive last week and this car is un-drivable. I have had a Porsche Turbo and other sports cars so I am no novice with cars that have firm rides. My wife and I took the 405 to pick up my son from LAX last night and we were almost launched into the headliner several times going over road transitions and bumps that are not out of the ordinary for Los Angeles streets. My son got in the car and asked not to take my car to San Diego for Thanksgiving. I can't image putting my foot down with some gusto as I feel I would lose control of the car if the street was not paved to perfection. Should there be a white plastic piece on the strut in the picture? Also, does the tire gap look suspiciously big?

That 100% looks like shipping blocks. The fact that you say that the car is basically undriveable all but confirms it. Still waiting for my G83 allocation (and probably will for a while) but my f80 still had the front blocks on at delivery and I had similar experience to you. Got them off and it was noticeable

I just took pictures of the rear and saw the blue plastic pieces. Paid 85k not to mention the overage for the allocation and this is the service I get. Unreal.

The car has 250 miles on it. Can these cause damage to suspension?

Jesus. We need to start naming and shaming the dealers that are messing up this badly. There's another thread where people also had shipping blocks left on their cars:

I guess dealer forgot to remove it during pre-delivery inspection? Not sure whether that shock dust cover is damage

Yes, they can cause damage but it's very unlikely for only 250 miles. It should be fine as long as you didn't hit any big pot holes going too fast.

This attention to detail is why I never trust dealers to wash or detail my cars.

I continue to be amazed by the incompetence of some dealerships.

I would ask them to explain how this can be possible, and go through the rest of the prep and delivery list with you.

Agree on name & shame. They're clearly just pencil whipping PDIs.

As others have said, yes, those are transport/shipping blocks. Also, a friendly reminder to check your cars coming out of the ports with the ram stop sale. This fuse panel is where the ram is installed for the stop sale. My car was delivered like this, and as you can see, there are 2 rags shoved into the fuse panel area.

I'd guess OP's tire pressure is probably close (or over) 50psi too. Predeliver inspection is a joke at some dealers. But you probably checked that given the suspect ride thus far

This happened to my Type R. My car had 200 miles on it, and kept throwing a tire code. Well, their tire pressure monitor is mounted on the shock, and it throws a code if the tire is over, or under inflated by 10%. So, I check the tires, and they're at 51.5 psi. Clearly not checked during the PDI. All Type Rs from existance, until 2021, when the plant closed, a few months ago, were all made in Swindon UK. So, they all go on a boat, just like the G8X. Luckily they put the shipping blocks in the trunk for me, and they did the same thing with my M4. So, I know they are removed.

So, let us know what the dealer's response is. They should make you a apologetic gesture, at least.

I checked mine and have like a white bushing on the lower half but it doesn’t seem to be a shipping block.

No split to pull off and it’s not moving. Guess it’s just some type of limiter. Anyone familiar?
