Poll: Did you option your G8x with moonroof

No judgement but just curious to see how many spec'd their G8x's with a moonroof. Personally, i didn't just because I like the CF roof and barely use my moonroof in other cars. Although having some additional light come in would be nice from time to time.

I went with the carbon fiber roof because it's an awesome no cost option and looks great. But I don't fault anyone for choosing a sunroof. Like you, I would only spec it for the additional sunlight and probably wouldn't open the sunroof very often.

I'm a fan of a moon roof, love the light and air but went with the carbon roof in this case

I'm actually on the ropes about this. I sort of want one, but even in existing cars I've hardly ever used them. From experience seems like most people get excited about the 'slick top' (e30, e36, etc) cars and since carbon fiber is available I have a feeling it will be looked down in the future. I should be spec'ing it for myself though right?

Always build it the way YOU want. You're not impressing anyone or need anyone's validation.

If I ever get an M3, I will option in a moonroof. This will be a daily driver for me, so the extra sunlight will be worth the small cost of weight savings.

Well I mean looked down on in terms of selling it in the future, not impressing anyone

Never know, with so many M cars without a moonroof, finding one would be rare and possibly a welcomed option on the used market.

Carbon roof was a no brainer for me in an M car, although I can understand people who love moonroofs getting it. For each their own.

I feel like going for it is a big sin, but I am seeing a lot of cars on Kitler and elsewhere with the option... I guess those are the ones that are struggling to sell!

Coming from a C7 with targa so I had to do it. The fresh air is what I will miss most about my vette.

I wanted the carbon roof, but we sold a mx5 vert as part of the process, and wifey wanted the moonroof. So while I understand the 'get what you want' philosophy I also have a CFO who had some input in the selection process. I really cant complain though, seems a reasonable compromise.

I live in the PNW so naturally I hate the sun and went for the CF which looks sweet, don't regret it.

I had a sunroof on my last car and barely used it (in spite of being very excited for said sunroof when I purchased it).

Went with the moonroof bc this will be my daily driver. Sun doesn't shine most of the winter here so any light is good light!

I’m really hoping that I don’t regret going with the CF roof. Its the only option that has been keeping me up at night. I enjoy the natural light that comes in with a moonroof but to me the car ends up looking more pedestrian without it.

I've had a sunroof on every car I've owned. It was a must for me. Use it regularly. Love opening it when it's a bit chilly out then blasting the heater . CF obviously looks great but won't be tracking my daily driver ever day nor do I car about shaving off any seconds on a lap time.

No. I had a moonroof on my F82 and carbon fiber roof on my F80. I've come to like the look of the carbon fiber roof and I rarely open the moonroof these days. As an aside, I'm getting another SUV and that will have a moonroof for those rare days when I want one.
