Talking Active Autowerke G80/G82 M3/M4 Signature single mid-pipe

**This product is a part of the Active Autowerke Motorsport Collection. It is for RACE and OFF-ROAD USE ONLY!

Active Autowerke is proud to release the much requested Signature Single Mid-Pipe for the BMW G80 M3 and G82 M4. This brings our expertise with a single mid-pipe from the F8X M cars to the G8X M cars and is an alternative to our X-Pipe Mid-pipe for the G8X.It provides a slightly deeper tone to the exhaust at a lower price point but without the option of secondary cats.

While these cars have received rave reviews for their performance, the sound is a muffled one leaving the driver to wonder if they are really driving a BMW M-car. In order to solve this, Active Autowerke has created a full exhaust system for the G80/G82 which comprises a choice of two mid-pipes (this one the single or our x-pipe), a rear axle-back valved exhaust and a set of GESI catted downpipes. Together, this remake of the stock exhaust results in a G80/G82 with an amazing sound. You will feel like you are driving a true M-car again. For the product launch, we are shipping systems without the secondary cats so you will need to provide an affidavit for race use.

This exhaust system upgrade was designed and engineered to work with most after-market exhaust systems/mufflers on the market today with only a single cut needed in the stock mid-pipe. It is a bolt-on that can be performed by most and the stock mid-pipe can also be reinstated if needed.

This system provides the maximum flow available and restores the sports car growl expected from a BMW M-Series car. There are plans for a future resonator upgrade for those who prefer a smoother sound to their exhaust systems.

Active Autowerke is able to improve on the factory mid-pipe by mixing the sounds earlier and for a longer period creating a deeper tone to the exhaust sound.

The Active Autowerke single mid-pipe system is constructed of 100% 304 brushed stainless steel and has a industry standard warranty against rust.

This latest addition to the Signature line up is a must for the true Enthusiast looking for a better sounding car to match amazing performance.
Features:

Durable 100% 304 Stainless Steel
Only single cut needed with Factory Style Flanges and clamps
Install to all systems that use factory style fitting
One year warranty
Replaces stock mid-pipe for better sound and flow.

Any sound clips yet. Was wondering if they were going to release a single and how it was compared to the Valvetronic version.

What would be the benefit of a single vs the x pipe previously posted?

I was leaning towards the Valvetronic single, didnt know Active was going to release a single version. But I loved my AA single on my F80. Tosses a wrench into my decision lol

both are good options, in my opinion, the design is so similar, i don't think they'll be a difference in sound between the two

yeah I will probably go with the active. Rarely see any fitment issues with them.

Excuse my ignorance, but is the single mid-pipe option for a different sound characteristic vs the X-pipe? I'm not familiar with this option so thought I'd ask. Are there performance benefits over the x-pipe such as exhaust flow? ?

The single midpipe provides a deeper growl and less rasp than your traditional x/h pipe. I enjoyed BMW's NA straight 6 and single turbo straight 6 sound for decades, but their twin turbo 6's have usually sounded way too raspy. When paired with catless downpipes, it becomes unbearable. The single midpipe tones down the rasp and makes for a more, IMHO at least, sophisticated sound.

I'm 100% ordering this midpipe. Valvetronics is asking more for theirs and they have reported fitment problems. AA is well known and I have complete trust in them since they've been in the game for many years. Can't wait

The stock picture doesn't look like its from a G8x. The active midpipe looks compatible. I know because I have been under a G8x today

The picture is a stock G8x. What you’re seeing is the crossover pipe from the downpipe to the other side of the car. The AA single midpipe connects directly to both downpipes.

So, if I understand correctly, this pipe replaces the main cats and the secondary cats? I.e., no cats at all w/ this set-up.

the main cats are in the downpipes and untouched.

The active autowerke replaces the secondary cats and the resonator.

This also replaces the crossover pipe? If so then it changes it from an equal length exhaust to unequal length?

I cant find pics of the AA single mid installed but its pretty much the same as the Valvetronic mid. Here you can see it eliminates the cross over pipe.
