So is this update just from 03/2021.xx to 07/2021.xx? Being that my car shipped with 07/2021.xx, I already have the update correct?

Do I need it?

Ok so I downloaded it onto my phone (Galaxy S9) and now I can't get the connections right to allow it to upload to the car. You need 3 connections and I can only get 2 completed - the Bluetooth and the Wifi connection. I cannot get the stupid Apps connection and I have tried everything. Any help would be appreciated.

They send out updates one version behind, so they are now installing 11/2021.xx on new cars. So you could still get an update but it may only goto 07/2021.xx if there is a newer July version than yours. I have had this happen a few times on my G05.

Good question, several in the G05 form have reported they lost anti-dazzle from software updates but I have not experienced that issue (yet). The re-coding isn't much of an issue.

You can google it for more details, look for videos. The short description is that it's coding to enable a feature that comes standard in the rest of the world. It's technically illegal here in the US (although the infrastructure bill set the stage for this to change).

If you have automatic high beams turned on, instead of the high beams turning completely off when your car detects other cars, it just shuts off part of the light that would shine onto the other car, keeping the rest of the light on (if you're going more than 40 mph). It's a pretty cool feature, and totally B.S. that BMW has to code it off on cars sold in the U.S.

So…if you've coded your car to enable this feature, it may revert back to stock when you update your car's software.

I figured out how to upload it - I had the Internet Connection box checked by mistake. Car is prepping for install right now.

Another quick question - will this overwrite my ASD settings? I turned it off via Bimmercode.

I just checked and my car is still running the July version. It says no updates are available. I'm in NY.

That sounds like the current version. The ones that had an update to download had a March version.

It's the European version of the advanced feature of the laser lights. I had mine coded in, and it was quite a process (someone doing it remotely through a laptop). Definitely requires someone with experience with coding, can't do it through Bimmercode or anything (at least not that I'm aware of). And it transforms the laser lights, making night driving MUCH safer.

It's an issue for me, since I can't do it. I'd have to reenlist someone, and going through my laptop, through the OBDII port, it wasn't a seamless experience.

Does it give full laser capability so high beams reach father along with anti dazzle? I need to get this remote coded!

- Update 07/2021.50

So from what I discovered the inside sound is more refined and less loud. So pumped in sound is toned down a bit..
It seems like the exhaust flaps open earlier and it sounds a bit better with the windows down.

Almost like the exhaust gained more sound and burbles in sport plus.
