Show us your winter tire setup

I am located in the Midwest and will take delivery of my G82 XDrive next week. I was informed by my SA that the BMW winter wheel packages are sold out and I have to resort to the aftermarket.
To help me decide on my setup, please post pics of your winter setup. Also, I am specially interested if anybody out there has fitted their stock 825 and 826 wheels with winter or all season tires!
Thank you!!

I put Michelin Pilot AS4s on my stock 826. From the side they look very similar to the summer tires. The tread is also similar and still has large blocks with additional sipes more so on the inner half. It's gotten chilly here in NY and they do seem grippy in the cold. Haven't noticed any change in performance although I would imagine you would on the track which I don't. I'll also speculate that these tires are for just a dusting or a inch of snow at best which is fine because I don't actually plan on taking it out in snow but want to be prepared.

Also, dealer does a great job swapping summer/winter tires, rims didn't have a mark, and only $100 each swap.

Thanks for replying. I am actually leaning towards the AS4s given that my choices have significantly narrowed down. Good luck with your setup!

Would all seasons be ok in the mid west or do you need a full winter tire? Sotto Zero seems to be a popular option but sizes are limited now it seems

I got the OEM set up, Aplin 5. You could call around. My local BMW had a few sets in stock

Great looking setup! This makes winter so much better. Yeah, can you please message me the info on your dealership? Thanks in advance!

Like zambarossa, I'm doing Michelin PA5 275/35R19s all around, only mine will be mounted on OEM 19" 825M bi-color rims. The tires and extra pair of rims are at the local dealer waiting for the car to arrive. I ordered them 2-3 months ago, when I got a tip Tire Rack was nearly out of PA5s in the size we need. I'll post a photo(s) in about a month when everything is in place.

YMMV, but if you're daily driving in and around Minneapolis, I'd look long and hard for proper winter tires vs. all-seasons. The difference in performance when you need them most is worth the investment.

Thanks for the reply, Lucky. Fortunately, I work from home full time with or without COVID. But I do drive around the Twin Cities areas particularly the western suburbs. Smart decision ordering them 2-3 months ago. I am kinda scrambling right now as my options are running out and I want to use the Xdrive during winter. Anyways, I will call around first thing Monday. Appreciate it bro.

I would contact them to see how soon they can ship out a set. I picked it these wheels/tires locally from a dealer and it's been working well so far in the light snow. Definitely a performance winter rather than the "extreme winter tires" we need at some points during winter.

The MSWs are back in stock at Tire Rack. I thought Forza1976's set up looked pretty good. I ordered a package with Vredestein all seasons on Monday and they arrived today. I don't plan to drive it in the snow, and these tires are much better than the OEMs in cold weather.

Maybe I got super lucky but my local dealer part's dept pulled through and found me one of the last remaining sets of 829s. I picked them up today. They look a lot better in person! Just glad they're here waiting for the car.
