That M3 with the race chip, is a rocket. Thats pretty impressive for the M. I need a tune on mine. Something I need to look into after my break in service, which will hopefully be in the next few weeks. Sitting at 548 miles.

If I didn't care about having a manual or tracking I would of gone hellcat with an e85 pully and tune

I agree.

The only reason why i ended up with an M3C instead of a hellcat was because hellcats by me are notorious of getting stolen. And since i live relatively close to newark (google it lol), i couldn't deal with the paranoia of owning one. Otherwise i would have already had a widebody hellcat charger in my driveway.

But the M3 is still incredible. I wish autotopnl had better comparisons. At least use a comp vs the hellcat. ZF8 vs ZF8 equipped cars.

Having owned the hellcat. He nailed it. With that said, I am ready for something a little more refine and I love that crackle pop. The interior is not even close. A huge reason why I got rid of the hellcat for the M3.

Hopefully it's true these M3s can hit 800-900 rwhp on stock motor. It should be faster than a FBO e85 hellcat. Which is my benchmark

Oh yea where all the people that kept on saying the M3 is faster than the hellcat in stock form…???

Idk about faster but maybe run with it?

Autoglory (i think that's the youtube channel) has M4 comp with the JB4 going head to head with redeye's. Not beating them but actually staying with them which is insane.

EDIT: That's why i was saying autotopnl needs better comparison. Why put a manual M3 against a fast shifting auto car? The manual is the slower version. That's why i rather see a comp vs a hellcat. From their perspective.

I agree. However I don't think it would make much of a difference. From a 40 roll the M3 comp has a chance (hellcat very difficult to grab traction) From a 60, it really has no chance. I think the fastest 60-130 from g80 is 9.06. There's hellcats that run slightly under 8s In the same pull. The bulk of them is 8.1-8.2.

That's all I was saying. Not saying hellcat is a better car.. Both different instruments. It's just nice the g80 is 500 pounds lighter and if this car can get to 800-900 rwhp with stock motor and stock turbos. I think it will easily run 60-130 in the mid 4s. Which is what im hoping for.

No no i'm not saying the M3 comp will smoke a hellcat. I know how fast hellcats are. My friend has a 900rwhp. You might know him from the forum? He road races his hellcat. He put a gigantic wang too for those track days lol.

I'm just saying i rather see a closer comparison at least. IE: auto vs auto. Why use a manual m3 (i know it's tuned) vs a fast shifting auto car?

Auto glory does have videos of a stock M4 comp literally beating modified 5.0's. And a JB4 M4C was side by side with a redeye which i thought was insane. Of course the redeye is stock.

I think some competitions have been recorded in the high 8's 60-130.

Are people driving 110, 120 or 130 mph on public roads or are these just numbers that matter on a drag strip?

Depends where you live. I used to be in a place where you could top out your car with no one on the road for miles. So it was safe in that sense, now I live in Houston so that's not possible.

I really like Hellcats but I'm pretty surprised how common they are. It's not a cheap car but I see a couple a day including track hawks. Are they cheap to lease or something?.

Yeah this test is somewhat apples vs. oranges... obviously a Competition/ZF would have been a closer match, but I was impressed with how well the stock(-ish) Base/6MT fared. Clearly BMW engineers have figured out how to get the power down more effectively than Dodge (though 800 torques would be a challenge with any car). Dodge didn't really pull away until above 140mph, which is pretty silly.

LOL what a sad thread this is… I remember not 2 years ago people on here were making fun of people with those decade-old dodge cars (hellcat) stating an m4 is a real drivers car and a dodge with a large engine is for people who don't appreciate what an ///M car is…. LOL now you're comparing them in a drag race and actually liking the dodge hahaha wow, what a sad world we've come to live in when an 13 year old car (design) is getting praised and compared to a brand new M car

I came from a widebody charger hellcat. I love love the sound but she is a heavy pig. I interior has been the same for the past 8 years… widebody made a huge different in appearance. I can't wait till the next gen

Always love me a Hellcat. Won't own one, because I need SOME fuel mileage, but I love them. They have to be driven to be fully experienced. You WILL laugh. It's just impossible not to.

A more appropriate race would be between an M5 Comp & Hellcat...not an M3. Of course the hellcat will walk it doing a top speed run, all that extra HP. Build quality is not comparable between the two vehicles however, especially on the interior. Hellcats you are buying the vehicle for the engine/transmission, everything else around it is just fluff. M3 is a complete package & balanced.
