Wheel hop problems

I have a 2021 manual M3 and I've never seen a car wheel hop so much, first gear and second gear U cant be full throttle or do a burnout without wheel hoping. I'm an experienced manual driver and this is not my first rwd manual car.

I was wondering if I was the only one?

Other day I did a pull in first/ second gear, car wheel hoped and everything went off, check engine on, no parking brake, diff issue light, limited power.. i used to have a c63s amg and a lot of other rwd gears and never experienced anything so intense

I love the car so far but that wheel hoping drives me crazy

Anything to resolve this?

I tried to adjust tire pressure, hot or cold weather, wet or dry road, it does it all the time

There is one sure way to fix it, and it's called xDrive.

No, but, seriously, have you tried it in different suspension modes? Thats not something you mentioned.

This is harmonic motion so it is unlikely to be easily solved. GM owns the patent on solving it and it involves differing the lengths of the half shafts, etc. Best option is no burnouts, etc since this is really, really hard on the drivetrain and you are likely to break something soon. Just have to modulate the throttle to balance traction and wheel spin.

Good thing its warranty lmao, but yeah balancing throttle is what I do when I dont want wheel spins, but sometimes burnouts are fun

This is part of the problem, you will want suspension to be softer when launching so that it can absorb some of the "hop" but these cars have a subframe that is solid mounted so they do have some wheel hop.

I haven't had this happen on my current G80 or my last F80 or F82. I did have this happen on my first BMW which was a 335i E92 and it would hop very bad I honestly though something was going to break. I put aftermarket shocks and springs Bilstien and Dinan and the different dampening corrected it. I'm sure that could also mess it up also if the car was lowered or changed but honestly I haven't had this issue on my current M3.

My tuned 991.2 RWD hopped so bad I was certain something was going to snap and hit me in the back of the head. Never figured out why.

Did one hard semi launch in the g83 in RWD drive mode and rain and it hopped too.

Guys on Porsche forums said it was lack of LSD, but I don't think that was the case.

My car is xdrive and wheel hops terribly in 1st gear in 2wd mode trying to do a burnout, if I short shift into 2nd and hammer it, it smoothes out...so to a previous poster maybe it does have something to do with colder tires. I agree with you OP though, burnouts are just fun.

I have the same issue with mine. 2021 Manual RWD with SPL rear Tractions arms and SPL Toe links. I thought that should have eliminated that issue. But high tire pressure can also cause that issue.
