I'm sorry for being a total newb on this topic having never ordered myself a new car (bought ones off the lot before - never a build).... week 40 means the 40th week from when they started building G8X M's?? If so, what was week 1, or asked differently a week 40 build would put us at which week?

Just pull up a calendar…it’s the 40th week of the year.

Ahhh okay so I misunderstood, so first week of Oct build = 40 week build.

Since I'm on the topic of dumb questions.....

Outside of the delays from the parking assist/audio module issue/recall, if your car is built on the first week of Oct, would you usually expect to receive it ~8 weeks later? I'm expecting if I place an order, after talking to the GM, I'll be an early Nov build so week ~44, he thought it would be here by end of year if that happens.

Hoping to get lucky and be moved up a week with other individual orders.

week 44 build, yeah, probably be here mid december or so.

I think IOMG and Tartufo were made to go together. Nice job! I'm hoping to hear that I have a week 40 build as well. Fingers crossed.

I haven't seen them together in person. But I've seen them individually and I think/hope it will look great. So excited to get it. The good news is that I'm in Germany, so I won't have to wait for it to ship back stateside.

I was lucky to secure an allocation through a friend in BMW.

approximately the car will at the dealer by the first week of October.

I havent seen Portimao Frozen Blue with Kaylami yet if you have any pictures please send them my way.

Probably. Build week is when the car is suppose to be completed.

I gave up trying to understand and predict what build week actually means for timelines. Mine was build week 39, but when into production ~2 weeks ago. It should done production by end of August (Individual order), and my dealership thinks they'll have it by end of September.

Mar48, I gave up on the delivery date because too many additional things can happen in-between. Example, I went into production the first week of August. As of yesterday, its still in production according to the email I received from BMW Genius. My build week is 34.

Additionally, since I'm in southern California I have to add 30 days just for the ship to travel across the ocean to Oxnard California. I didn't count the days it waits for a ship or or count the days after arriving in Oxnard. ( The vehicles have to clear US Customs)

My guess is, after I placed the Order May 28th, July production number, Aug build, I'm guessing if everything goes as plan the ship is traveling the pacific ocean in December.

Just got off the phone with BMW genius and was told my car was scheduled to finish production Week 40 however it is not confirmed. Still in 111 Order Received Status.

And just like that, all is right with the world. Just got the call from my dealer that they received an allocation for my G80 xdrive. Week 40 production. I guess this is my new favorite thread.

I'm confirmed for Week 40 as well (delayed from Week 35, probably due to my Tanzanite Blue individual paint). Looking forward to keeping in touch with you all.
