20+21" BMW 1000M Wheels already for sale

Hi, my name is Marco, i just placed an order for a 2022 BMW M4 Competition xDrive in Sapphire Black Metallic, and I am searching to buy the 20+21 1000M OEM BMW wheels and finally i found that Alloy Wheels Direct (http://www.alloywheelsdirect.net) have them in a very good price and in both finished styles wheels the Gold Bronze and the Jet Matt.

https://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/bm...00m_wheel_6948

They told me that are 100% Originals and have them already in stock.

I have 3 Questions:

1.- Anyone have any experience with Alloy Wheels Direct?
2.- Someone already bought a 1000M Wheels?
3.- The stiffer ride with the 21inch wheel and 295/25/21 tire its ok?

I appreciate your comments.

My dealer's service/parts department expected they would be available for sale at the end of the month. Im interested in the matte black finish, but not sure it's wise in NYC

Ok, this guys at alloywheelsdirect.com send you the wheels from UK, they said they already have 400 sets, i already checked and i think they are truthful, my main concern is how stiff the car's handling gets with that rear tire in 295/25/21

I hate busy wheels but have to admit these are really nice and at a good price too (especially the black which is what I’d go with).

I agree and the rubber band tires don't look right on the car. There are some examples in the wheel and tire section of the forums that have 21's in the rear already. This is all subjective of course. It is a shame tbh, the gold bronze color would look good on Toronto Red.

Thanks for your opinion, here are some examples of how they look (with Yokohama Tires), from the "wheel and tire section" as you well said

I liked the Matt Black for sure!

Like I said I really like these wheels, but when I go with a new set I think I'll be going 19s all the way around. I have the staggered 19/20 setup which has gotta go, and I adore 20s but I think our dinky ridiculous rear calipers are a serious eye sore on these cars (they're so bad flashes in my mind of Ebay caliper covers has occurred and I couldn't be more embarrassed for even thinking of it). Going with a 21 is going to make it even worse, think of those Porsche Boxsters you see with the huge wheels and the dinky little rear calipers, ours are even WORSE. Couple the rear calipers with our massive, aircraft sized front brakes and its just looks completely out of whack. When I see a side profile of our cars, I see a person who could only afford a front BBK and left the dinky rears because he didn't have the cash to do all four corners lol.

I think 19s would help mask the unfortunate size of the rear calipers better than 20s, and a helluva lot better than 21s.

Before you torch me, YES I know the braking on our cars is incredible. I'm simply speaking to the aesthetics which are woeful.

^ you nailed it re the rear brakes appearing even more inadequate.

I'm also in NYC and I can't imagine driving on 25 radial tires with our roads. Way too stressful.

you are right about the "ridiculous rear calipers", on a 2019 Porsche targa that i had it was the same, but i have to say not that smaller.

They look great on this M4 with H&R springs

I'm pretty sure you could go 305/25/21 in the back, should be room.

Uffff Nice! thanks for sharing that video @SOMER, I hadn't seen it, it looks amazing! now i am convinced, my M4 hasn't even been built, but these wheels will be waiting for it, I'll take my chance it's handling being stiff and not liking it, but I really like the way it looks.

Quick question. Why would you buy a $90,000 thing that you feel is woeful looking in any way? I mean I wouldn’t even buy an incredibly practical and perfect working grill for my back porch if I thought it was woeful looking.

Getting back to wheels I do have another question. I’m specifically asking you because you said you would prefer to go 19” all around. So would I however don’t you think BMW drivers and engineers tried all those configurations and came up with 19” in the front and 20” in the back because for this particular car it delivered the best results? Same question for those who want to go with 20 in the front and 21 in the back. I can understand why people may not like the look of these wheels and want to change them but shouldn’t they go back with the exact same sizes the experts already determined work best? Of course if the purpose of changing them has nothing to do with performance and everything to do with aesthetics and the individual is willing to have reduced performance to achieve the aesthetics they like then I understand.

You just reminded me of what my father always told me when changing the wheels on my cars, why do you want to change something that the expert engineers who developed the car chose? And the answer is very simple for me, if the car were to put it in to the track and give the most of its performance, I definitely did not change the wheels, however I use the car in the city and put some wheels that to my liking make it look even nicer and without losing the essence of the car's engineering So why not do it?
that by the way those 20/21 wheels have also been designed by the same experts who designed the car.

By the way, I just realized that the getbmwparts.com guys already have them for sale and at an even better price than in the UK.

No brother what I said was I totally get why people want different looking wheels. What I don’t get is why would they change the size of the wheels and in this case mostly revolving around M cars. When I owned a Mercedes Benz C450 it came stock with some pretty ugly 18 inch wheels. However it didn’t come stock with that size because it was best for the car they probably did it because of cost. So people were putting 19 inch and 20 inch wheels on that model all over the place and they worked great. However with the M cars they are looking for a performance and they experiment with every size. So when they are done I assume they go with whatever wheels perform the best. Of course I could be wrong. According to my wife I’m wrong often so there you go.

I understand you perfectly and more about your wife hahahaha there is no one who is saved in this world from something like that

Well I tell you that I already ordered them and around September I will upload some photos with my comments, I really hope I do not regret it and that its handling is not something uncomfortable.

The Wheels Arrived

Hello everyone, I am writing to let you know that the wheels I bought from getbmwparts.com arrived today and they look awesome.

I just have to wait for my car to arrive to put them on, my dealer told me that at the beginning of August he tells me the date they will deliver it to me.

I'm thinking of using 12mm front and rear spacers with michelin Pilot Sport 4 S

285/30/30
295/25/25

I would like to see it first without any lowering kit, the truth is I am afraid of installing something in the suspension, it is said that problems come later, but i really don't know because i think there will be a bigger gap with this 20/21 than with the original set of wheels.

What do you think?
