Manhart opf/gpf deleter

Hey all,

I am really looking forward to deleting my opf and secure my G82's airway. The only way I found is to use the manhart opf deleter (picture attached) so she doesn't go into limp mode. Does anyone know how this thing works? Where do you reckon this will plug in? I have asked manhart support but have not received a reply yet.

Also, I assume there is no other way to delete it? since the ecu has not been cracked? Or I have other options as well?

Thanks again guys/gals for the help.

Isn't it just a pressure sensor that sits before the opf?
So if the pressure goes up to high which means that the opf is clogged there will check engine light.

Hi. I guess it’s something that gets connected so opf sensor is bypassed. I am still waiting for the seller to get back to me about installation. But I am not sure where to install it and how well it works. I am really underwhelmed by the sound this car makes, especially coming from a 440i with mppsk. That made a glorious sound.

Yes bypass or "trick" the sensor i guess.

But what happens if you just hang the pressure hose to the side? Would that give you a check engine light if it just measure pressure?
Or maybe it wants just a little pressure increase so the dme knows thats the sensor working and to keep it in an acceptable range?

Sorry, no idea at all. I assumed that the sensor would measure an acceptable range of pressure and anything outside would cause an error and limp mode. Thats probably the reason why it needs a tune or a plug and play unit like this to bypass the sensor. But the extent of my knowledge regarding this is very limited.

Please tell the answer from the support I'm also interested how the sensor works.

I will. I emailed them on Sunday and waiting for a response.

However, the product description says:

"Specific pressure sensors are able to detect that the flow through the exhaust becomes quicker when you remove the filters. The pressure alters and the sensor will throw an error message anywhere above 5000 rpm or after a specific mileage.

This means that you cannot fully use your car that might have a brand new exhaust system without disabling this sensor. The Deleter will deal with the OPF-Delete and make sure that you won’t have any errors anymore when you decide to change your stock exhaust for a new aftermarket system. Disabling the sensor via an ECU/DME tune is not required anymore."

I went ahead and ordered anyway as I have an appointment with a exhaust specialist. I am hoping to have the opf gutted from the top so its difficult to get noticed on visual inspection. Would there be any issues with this method?

Not sure if Manhart are ever going to reply. Three emails have gone to them already. Placed the order for the deleter on 6th and so far “order not processed”. My appointment with exhaust guy is also soon. 😞

Thanks. I hope I get the stuff before Thursday next week. The exhaust guy was fully booked until December but he slotted me in. I don't think the deleter is available from anyone else even the manufacturer LEIB.

Spoke to them this morning. No long wait times or annoying music when you wait. It looks like they shipped it yesterday and I tracked the shipment as well. Expected delivery Tuesday 15th. They said installation instructions will be with the item and similar to the current F8x deleter.
Can’t wait to gut out the opf and stop my car sounding like a Prius.

Subscribed.... Are you gutting your downpipes? Putting on race SSR pipes? Im a bit confused. On the G80 there are no sensors or Lambdas that need to be jumped or bypassed with any mid pipe on the market. Only for downpipes. Several people have done resonator and secondary cat deletes with no CEL or issues.

What are you planning? Super curious.

Hello. We, in Europe are quite unfortunate to get the petrol particular filter which is monitored. So to avoid mapping the car, I got these cables. I have only gutted out that filter and made some changes to back box and resonator. I am thinking about cutting out the secondary cats. No plans for downpipes yet.

Wow ok. I thought the US was damn near the strictest. So you have additional monitors of the exhaust then we do?
Thought everything was Euro4 compliant

Its all Euro 6 now and my G82 sounded almost as quiet as a 420i before I "deleted" the opf. The sound difference is immense and I can hear the sound now. So far the deleter seem to be working and I haven't got a CELL despite pushing the rev over 5000 every time I drive.

Can anyone confirm that USA spec G80 with manual transmission doesn’t come with OPF or any other communist euro restrictors in the exhaust.
Thanks, just trying to be prepared for the arrival of I need to buy some parts or what not
