Can you transport 4 tires in an M4?

Perhaps a feat few have attempted yet, but can anybody validate if you can fit 4 tires inside an M4?

I was originally considering an M3 due to the greater practicality of 4 doors, but I have had a 2 door daily driver for the past 11-12 years and it has rarely presented a problem. I am considering going with an M4 instead due to lack of M3 allocations.

This would be my only vehicle (besides a Ducati). Winters are mild here in the North Carolina piedmont region, but I anticipate I would need to swap the factory summers over to all seasons for our coldest few months.

Thanks.

Tires should be an easy fit.

The M3 was able to fit four 19" wheels with mounted tires in the rear seats and trunk. M4 should be the very similar with its slightly smaller rear dimensions but worst case, one tireis going to have to go into the front passenger seat.

Can't confirm the US spec cars but UK cars all come with folding rear seats (or my F82 did anyway and pretty sure my inbound G82 does too!), so you'll definitely get 4 tyres in the back of an M4 if it's the same on US cars

I did it in my previous F82. Can be done, flip the seats down and slide the front passenger seat forward.

Thanks guys. I have an E92 chassis 328xi with 17s and recall the fit being pretty tight. I know the newer generations have grown larger and there is an extra inch of rear leg room, but the wheels have also grown larger with the 19/20 inch combinations so I had minor concerns. Sounds like it should be a non-issue!

Now I just need to wrap up this refinance on my mortgage so I can go purchase an M4

I had to drive all 4 stock wheels across the state to sell them earlier this year, it was actually a tight fit. 3 wheels on the folded down back seats and one in the trunk. Had to cinch the front seats forward a bit.

Just the wheels or were tires also mounted?

If the former, was it so tight that they would not have fit if tires were mounted?

Yes! I did it today. One in trunk, two in back seat and one up front. Of course I wrap them all so they don't touch my seats but I do it ALL the time. Literally.

Put the rear seats down next time. Much cleaner with one in the trunk and three on the rear seat backs.

I hauled a full set of rims/tires in my E90 M3 all the time (for the track). Space -efficient method was tires fully wrapped, backseats left unfolded, tires stood upright, and thick blanket over the whole thing for a clean look. It left the entire trunk for track detritus and luggage. And no front seat adjustment required (am 6’6”). Of course, being a 4-door helped loading/unloading.

Sorry for resurrecting this post but I am curious if anyone has managed to do this in a G83 convertible. I am going to have to do this about 3 weeks.

Should be able to stack 2 on the right with the passenger seat all the way forward, then have 1 on the left side behind the driver, then 1 in the trunk.

If you put the top down first to load, it makes it dead simple. Should be able to put it back up once it's all loaded in.

I love how much extra space I get by having a convertible :P

Make two trips.

But wait for the M3 if that’s what you really want.

What Ducati?

I did transfer 4 wheels and tires but one wheel had to be on the front seat. I had a lot of blankets to prevent any damages.

That too. But this works fine it always has. Even when I had my e90 and I’d have BBS’s with me. Same set up, two in back seat, one in front and one in trunk
