I opted for it because of the 360 cameras. I believe the cameras are also needed for BMW Car Eye 2.0, which I've opted for as well.

Does anyone have a clue if these 360 cameras can be retrofitted into an M4? My car has arrived without them and the dealer said they will not be produced for another few months in my region (Poland).

I am sure it wouldn't be cheap. You would need a new front bumper and mirrors for the cameras.

Gotcha! If you have the front camera ( the little lens/dot in the middle of the bumper ) and the 360 view of the car then it means you have the parking assistance package. Unfortunately when building my car the parking assistance package was not available due to the chip shortage. Don't know how true that is but oh wellz...

I got that option for the Surround View Cameras and the Remote 3-D view.
The Remote 3-D view is a fun gadget. |

I had PAP on my X5 but didn’t order my M4 with it. Having surround view is nice, but at the time I was finalizing my spec, the headlines here were stop sale horror stories due to camera shortages. I never used automated parking; it was just easier and quicker to park myself using mirrors than to remember all the steps to have the vehicle do the work. The remote 3D view is a nice gimmick (such as checking up on it while in for service). I occasionally liked the bird’s eye view to affirm I was centered in a parallel parking spot or fully in a pull-in spot.

Now that I actually have my G82 I'm still glad I got the system. Definitely more so for the cameras and sensors.
One difference between the G82 and F82 systems for self parking is how completely digital and electronic the connections between the drivetrain, steering, and ECU clearly are vs. at least pretending to keep some things mechanical and driver based previously. E.g. on the F82, you still had to brake and give some inputs. The G82 system really completely takes over as soon as you tell it to go. When I do use it its mostly for the novelty. |

Anyone annoyed at their dealer for not telling you this package was an option? I would really have wanted this for the cameras as I have had it on my previous two cars. I don't know what my options are as it seems it gets retrofitted at the VPC center?

My experience was different. Never saw it on the configuration and when my order was placed the dealer just added it lol. I'm glad though.

Lucky for you, mine spent all of 10 minutes with me and never mentioned it. I assumed it was part of the executive package as I didn't believe a 100k car would be sold without it.

I'm so annoyed... I just took delivery after checking literally every single box in the configurator (so I'd have all of the options) and was extremely disappointed to not have the surround view camera.
As mentioned in another thread, that fact that this amazing car has the same shitty PDC as a stock Honda Civic is really keeping me from enjoying it as much. I used the 360 camera on my G20 regularly to prevent rim rash when parking against a curb. (RIP rims on the G80!) |

I've already been complaining to my CA about it, and he is telling me it isn't possible to retrofit. He is talking about putting me on the allocation list again so I can reorder the car with this feature and I'll just trade my current one for the new one when it arrives. I am seriously considering this option, but I'm worried about losing other important features that are getting removed due to shortages.
On the note of retrofit, I did find this OEM kit for $1500 on BimmerTech that fits G20s (so I assume it would fit G80s as well). I'm tempted to also try this route. https://www.bimmer-tech.net/products...stant-retrofit |

I also see you are some 450 miles away from BimmerTech in Florida maybe they would be willing to work on your car and hopefully that way sell way more kits to the rest of us? Maybe give them a call? |

Talk to your CA and tell his lazy ass to put it on, it's an 800$ option and not visible for us consumers but he can add it! It's called the parking assistant plus and includes 360 cameras and drive recorder. |
