I think I will give the Griot's ceramic a try. I like having a good budget DIY option.
Mine was Opticoated Pro. You can not have this color without it.
The paint is beautiful but very very very receptive to everything. And it shows it.
I have a video of the car, tried but can not attach it.
I intend to wrap the whole car in Xpel soon though.

I did a full coat of the Griot's on Sunday. Definitely different to apply than Hydrosilex. Not harder or more work, but can tell it will cure harder. Just watch Griots YouTube video on application to be sure you do it "right." End result looks great and is extremely smooth to the touch. I also like that you just layer it on itself so if anything the protection gets better over time. Obviously can't comment on protection or water repellant properties yet.

I agree with the SMB owner, if you spend the money on the paint, you need at least a true ceramic if not frontal PPF to protect it.

Thanks, definitely going to get the full frontal PPF as well. I'm currently trying to compare the PPF options and am considering a hydrophobic PPF (such as STEK dynoshield).

Whichever one I go with, I'll give that Griots a try.

Be careful as while STEK looks good (because is thinner) it will not offer you a great protection as XPEL does.
I had STEK on my X1 an did not last one winter as it was chipped and damaged by the gravel, plus it did not protected the hood as supposed to.
XPEL I had for over 7 years on another car and the film was still intact.
STEK is good if you are in California or whatever, or for a show / summer car as beeing thinner looks better on the car.
If you see winter however, look elsewhere.

What's up dude, looked at your m3 post on other websites. Could you share more pictures and possibly videos as well?
