Tapping Audio Outputs to Add a Subwoofer to Harmon Kardon

I am wanting to add a sub. Going with self amplified JL 12 400 watt. Question is I want a clean signal thus would like to avoid line level speaker outputs. First has anyone else added a sub? Second, What are you options for signal tap? In my old car I was able to tap the balanced line outputs and run it to jl balanced to unbalanced converter then run rcas to my amp. This is the Harmon Kardon on M3 G80 2021. Also any links to wire pin outs would be great.

I think platform is too new for feedback here, I would check the g20 M340i forum I'll bet some people have done it there.

What would prevent you from simply tapping the wires connected to the under-seat subs? That's what I intend to do. Four bolts for the seat, four screws for the speaker cover.

I have always used member Technic wiring harness with great success on my prior M cars. I would double check with him on what version to purchase. I think this is it, but I am not 100% sure.

Yeah i have a technicPNP harness with the LOC-150 so its plug and play no wire splicing. Running a JL 12tw3-d4 in a slim box for now. Going to get a custom corner box made soon, It sounds great. Make sure you code out the ASD or turn it off with the m-sound update cause it will play the exhaust sounds through you subwoofer amplifed (loudly).

How do you turn it off with the M sound update?

What made you pick this option over the audison apbx 12 as2? Are you really happy with how the sub has fitted into the current system?

Guessing you can really crank it up now as you are not relying on stock subs?

Bumping this. Has anyone added an external subwoofer yet? I am tempted to buy the technic harness and add a sub/amp I had in F80 M3.

Just received my technicPNP harness today. I'll have a 12 inch JLAudio powered sub up and running by this weekend. More feedback soon

Awesome! Good luck with the install. Did you get the LOC-150 option too?

Technic PNP harness sure makes the install a breeze.
Especially with the battery location right next to the RAM, I don't think I've seen an easier car/brand to work on when it comes to audio upgrade.

I scrolled through my album and couldn't find any pics taken during the installation Sorry...
I really need to make a habit of taking some pictures for reference purposes.

Here are the items:
- Technic PNP Harness
- LOC
- Powered sub (RF P300-10)
- Miscellaneous (Power cables, RCA cables, etc.)

I threw in the RF P300 I had lying around.
The sub fills in the bottom end that's missing. But even after some time trying to tune it, the system still doesn't sound balanced.
I plan on getting a package setup once it becomes available.

I'm also still waiting on BC to put the ASD decode function in the official release version because with the sub in the car, it sounds like a V8 with the low rumble lol.

Question. Im about to buy the harness. But I am confused about a few of the plugs.

I know the big plugs intercept between the amp. But what are the other three small plugs for? I assume one of them goes out to the LOC? If so, what are the other two plugs for?

^^^Disregard.

Technic just told me its a pigtail for amp'ing your stock subs and the other for your own LOC if you go that route.
