How much attention do you get in your G8X M? Is it negative or positive attention?

Could you compare it to the attention you get in a non-M?

I think people generally think I'm an asshole and stuck up for driving one, but the car gets plenty of attention.

Ive had my CS for a little over 2 weeks now. This is my first M car. Coming from an audi - its already so different (my S4 barely got comments). So far all love but almost everyday I have gotten a thumbs up or people will roll down their window and say something nice. Im 2/2 for someone coming up to me at the gas station and complimenting it and asking questions. Have had 1 person try to race me!

I had a guy throw up all over himself while driving just from being on the same road as me. Another guy immediately went into a full on seizure upon seeing my car. Is that attention enough?

Ladies throw themselves at my car, and men ask me to be their friend. I decline both because I’m not a peasant.

I appreciate the responses both real and exaggerated (though I am not sure which are which at this time)

I feel the M3/M4 attention is not more than I can handle.

Aside from someone taking a video, its on par with what my 440i gets.

And as far as the women thowing themselves at the M. Drivers, I already get that but even while just a pedestrian (literally and figuratively)

It depends a lot on the color of the car.


My IOMG gets more attention than I would like but I love the color so I accept it.

I have yet to receive any ‘negative’ attention in the car though. It’s usually thumbs up and people taking pictures, etc.

Was going to say the same thing.

My E46 M4 cab got some attention because it was Laguna Seca Blue. My E90 M3 got almost none as it was Jerez Black. Same for my F82 M4 in Silverstone, little interest.

I expect my G81 M3 will get a bit more interest from car people as it won’t be that common (especially this early) and they may know what it is. To normal people, it will be a black dad wagon.

That's why I have an ambulance follow me everytime I go out for a drive. Too many necks broken and people hospitalized.

My non-M’s were practically invisible until I straight piped them, then I started getting attention from ricers and V6 mustangs who expected me to drive recklessly with them.

My M4 is boring alpine white and stock, but I get positive feedback from people who know what M cars are and/or people in nicer cars like 911s and supercars. I feel like the M is more appreciated.

Coming out of my local Dunkin this morning and elderly woman parked next to me in a Audi A7 asked me what car and what color is that? I smiled and told her it was a BMW M4 in Dravit Grey. She was surprised the color was grey and slightly bronze and said it was stunning. She also said I can't let my husband see that. He will want one. LOL

Maybe its because my G80 is the standard alpine white, but I get no attention at all and I certainly dont live in an area where high end sports cars are everywhere. I was, pleasantly, surprised. I’ve had it for a year and my fairly stock wrangler gets more attention. It also has red interior so its not full boring color scheme.

While I do not drive a G8X myself, I do notice them regardless of color or mod level. They have road presence. It's always interesting to observe the responses of other people in the cars surrounding the G8X's on the road.

I get compliments almost every time when driving through starbucks drive thru lane. We are surely the rock stars on the road!
