I went to the dealer to try the seats.

Jesus, what a nightmare to get in and out! I thought these will be must have but now I would never order them on a daily.

I am really surprised how difficult it is to get in and out the car. The side bolster is just too high.

Yeah, tried them today. No way for me too. They look great, but my goodness, no way do I want to hop in and out of these on a regular basis. I do OK getting in, I can "fall" in. But getting out, I'll rub those bolsters like crazy, wearing them out.

The good news is that the base seats look pretty damn good too, especially in the non-black, multi-color patterns. Those will have to do for me.

Agree so much eye candy, they look gorgeous! However the bolsters wear out like crazy for sure.

Wow, at least you have an option in the M3/M4. The M5 CS only comes with these sports buckets.

I was considering ordering the carbon bucket seats with my G83 ZCP, but I will not now after spending some time in the actual seat. Not practicable in my opinion.

Yes, depending on your height and weight this could be a tricky car to be a daily driver.

I think they’re very comfortable. 5’ 11” 230 (very athletic build). No complaints whatsoever. They are difficult to get in and out though. I’m glad I stuck with my decision.

I am 5' 9" about 210lbs and I found them to be comfortable and getting in wasn't such a big deal. Getting out on the other hand wasn't easy but I'm sure will get easier as time goes along. I will spec them on my build.

I'm 5'10", 170lb and while the seats do look awesome, no way I could daily these. Really glad I went to the dealership to test them out. For weekend driving they would be excellent, more than that, they would be too much for me. They definitely are a sight to behold though.

He did the right thing, test these seats before you purchase.

Getting into them was like falling into a black hole. Getting out of them proved to be just as hard as escaping a black hole.

I tried that at my Local dealer in NJ. I would consider myself very flexible and athletic. They should still come with a disclaimer that BMW will not be responsible your divorce if your wife (or husband) did not try them before buying.

Lived with them for two days

.... and they are epic. Totally agree that they are a bit tricky to get in and out of, and will not be for everyone. I have mastered the use of my right hand on the kick plate to get out, and a swing from the 'A' pillar on the way in.... I am short 5' 7" and about 160 lbs
But driving around in them and they are fantastic. They hold you in a very supportive way the whole time... really please that I stuck with my first choice...
And they make the interior look very cool..

Yes, you and I are the same height and weight and it's almost like the bucket seats were custom made for us. For other potential buyers of different sizes, not so much.

In the UK we can't try them due to covid restrictions... My order change deadline is looming, kinda feeling I've got to drop CF seats and not gamble. I'm 6ft 1 and 190 lbs, but will be using the car as a DD, In n out several times a day including the school runs some days (M3c / iomg / black / 826m bi / red cal / carbon pack / full leather).

But love how they look and it's tough to untick the box, common sense needs to prevail though I think. As an ex amateur rally driver buckets just do it for me. But im 50 now and know I should face facts...

You're the same build as me (if you gym a bit but still like to eat mini eggs on a weekend that is!)
Was a hard no for me as a daily. Too tight and awkward and my legs are wider so the squeezed that center piece. They look great but that was the only reason I'd order them, and that's not a reason to order them for me.

Indeed. Better have a petite wife with no child bearing hips.

I sat in an M4 the other day with them. Very comfortable, but that side bolster would be a pain in a daily driver. I'm 5'8" 175lbs.

They'd be great for a track day.

Sadly, too aggressive for a daily. The sole issue is the high solid lower side bolsters. Climbing over them is awkward. I expect them to wear quickly. Passengers will probably be love/hate on them.

But they look so incredibly good, and feel great once you’re in.
