Clunk from the rear when accelerate after coasting (G82 6MT)

Hello! The car has 22k miles on it, it is a manual 2022 M4. I have been feeling a clunk (clunk/jerk/slight jolt) from the rear end of my car when I press the gas after coasting in gear. There is only one clunk each time. (let off gass to coast in gear -> wait x seconds -> press gas pedal -> clunk).

It happens in the 5th gear almost 100% of the time. It does not happen in lower gears; it is more pronounced in higher gears. It does not happen when I resume throttle immediately after I let off either.

Has anyone experienced this before?

I can't say I have felt anything alarming but there is a degree of normalcy regarding a bit of drivetrain "slop"

If it feels alarming or above normal levels of slop I would take it in while its still warranted

Are you able to put it on a lift and shift from reverse to drive to see if you can reproduce? Could be a failed bushing in the diff bracket. Ask me how I know… but it wasn’t because the stock bushings failed but an aftermarket stiffer bushind did. But what your describing sounds like what I had going on

I’m don’t have access to a lift unfortunately. It’s not a terribly obvious clunk for me, more fitting description would actually be a jolt. I will ask the dealership to make a diag. Thanks for replying!

I bet new differential fluid solves the issue. Takes no time for dealer to do this...
