On another note, yesterday I was doing an oil change on one of our customers cars, which I usually try to avoid. I did everything as professionally as possible I’m talking about torquing everything bolt to spec and as the car goes for a test drive, all the Mobile1 oil spills everywhere. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Ouch that sucks.

I am one of the folks that doesn’t really care about PPF on this car. It was a dealer add on with my Land Rover Autobiography and they did it for free on my gloss white suv.

Now I have a frozen white M4 and I can care less. I have a bunch of rock chips but the one stage paint is so thin and this isn’t a $150K+ car so for rock chips this is normal wear and tear. I can get the entire front repainted for $500 bucks and it will be aged frozen to exact match.

And btw it happens to all of us. I had my M4 a week and the front windshield had to be replaced and coded after a small rock cracked the entire windshield and I got a nail in my front tire. I was like wtf, anything else?

Probably would have protected it or reduced how noticable it is. Replacing fender ppf is cheaper than repainting a fender and less invasive. Can't really buff and polish matte paint so frozen PPF would be a must if your paint is matte and you care about scuffs and scratches.

Also any scratches under your car, just let it be unless it's a low mile investment car worth a lot of money.

Since we’re on topic, I’m so something about this car I haven’t even taken the airbag tag off and the blue stickers I take off as time goes when I feel like it. Am I being too much or what?

If you DO go the PPF road you should be aware that new non factory (body shop) paint needs time to cure before ppf otherwise the PPF could rip the paint off if the PPF is removed. I'm not sure the cure time for new paint, but probably a month. Check with your PPF installer on how long to wait after fresh non factory paint. Matte paint might be different because of clear coat or lack of clear coat?

If it was me I'd remove the tag and stickers before I left the dealership, but I know other people prefer to keep them for some reason?

But as far as scapes under the car... If I can't see the blemish as I approach the car, I'm personally not spending money to fix it.
