Pics of our totalled 325is
(Finally got a scanner, and was able to scan these older photographs.)
Our current E90 330i is our fourth 3-Series generation to own. A number of years ago, my wife flipped our E36 as shown below. She walked away, completetly unharmed from this accident. She was very lucky for sure, and not every story like this has a happy ending. That was our second BMW, and from that day forward, we've been dedicated to having a 3'er as the main family sedan. Like most of us, we got hooked on the performance and handling. Now, we also have an appreciation for the safety and technology. OK, here is how it happend. This was a late summer day, there was no rain for about two weeks. Then one morning there was a mist in the air, making the roads slightly wet, and the oil which was on the roadway came to the surface creating a hazardous condition. She braked late into the turn at low speed, and lost it. This was in the days before stability control. Hopefully, none of you will get a phone call like I did that day. I arrived onsite before the police/safety crews. Last edited by JackMac; 10-05-2007 at 09:36 AM.. Reason: added newspaper report |

Holy cow. Until I read through it, I thought it just happened. My heart sank. Thankfully she was ok. Is it me or does it look like maybe BMW put more structural rigidity on the cage above the driver?
So wait, she led this past Sunday?

I was looking at the roof as well and it seems that when it flipped, the passenger side hit first. Thankfully, she was alone. BTW, she can lead the pack anyday!

Holy Sh*t...I am glad (and amazed) she simply opened the door and walked out. Must have been the scariest drive over to the scene...Thanks for sharing
