Can we force BMW to restart the EUROPEAN Delivery Program?

I know this is a long shot, but the reasons behind BMW choosing to stop offering Euro delivery is far behind us. BMW becoming one of the most sold cars in 2023 I'm sure they would consider bringing it black if enough of us were to email the CEO to reconsider the changes.

Im not sure how many of you would be still interest in this program but I'm sure there are a lot of us who would like to go pick up the cars from the factory and drive on the best roads on this planet.

What do y'all think?

why bring back things that bleed money when you are already increasing sales year over year.

Oh sure, go right ahead. I'll watch.

While you're at it, force them to make affordable cars with six-cylinder engines, no turbo, and stick-shifts that will last 300,000 miles without needing repair.

This isn't the 90's anymore. You will be a subservient, subscription-addicted peasant

Now fork over that $4.20 for heated seats this month.

Big companies don't care. All they care about is making more and more profits for shareholders.

But, they already do that, even for cars built overseas.

I've emailed the North America CEO to prod him into importing the G61 to the colonies. He doesn't even bother to reply. Based on that lack of response to my message, and the lack of response to that M3 Touring petition drive, I don't see them re-instituting Euro delivery.

You are forgetting that the majority of BMWs sold are SUVs. We are not their target audience.

I agree with you, and in general when you look at 2023 sales numbers for NA, they saw increases for cars and decreases for SUVs. Whether that changes anything remains to be seen.

BMW doesn't make an SUV for me. Perhaps they think, for example, that an X5 is a suitable substitute for a G31/G61, but not with my money. I have an SUV primarily for towing, secondarily for carrying 7-8 people. The X7 does not have adequate towing capability for me. Next summer or fall I will probably be searching for a recent E450 wagon unless some miracle happens and we get the G61.

Humor aside, European Delivery is an example of a brand visibility program typically sponsored by marketing organizations. Marketing programs inevitably change.

We are in the same boat. We have a F25 X3 and will likely move to a larger SUV, but for $60k-90k, we're going to want the SUV to have decent towing/trailering capability.

BMW doesn't make any 1/2 ton based full size SUV so the X5 or X7 are not under consideration.

For a unibody 3 row RWD based SUV, we'd probably go with the 2025 Ford Explorer ST. It has decent driving dynamics and it's a proven platform for severe duty use.

I've seen this mentioned a couple of times but don't both the X5 and the X7 have have a towing capacity something like 2,000-lbs more than an Explorer?

best guess, this is the reason or variants like it.

I remember 10yrs ago hearing this program was mainly a subsidy of the EU tourism board, never looked into it for myself but it's sounds like it's true... my grandpa told me in a bar c'mon.

SC VPC no longer does a delivery for German builds effective last October area. Cited reasons I heard was shipping and supply delays scheduling and logistical challenges for limited time and space at VPC. so yeah way to go grandpa this is why we can never have nice things!

Sorry for the confusion. I didn't mean to imply that the Ford Explorer was a "towing machine". Neither the Ford Explorer, X5, nor X7 have an integrated brake controller from the factory so I wouldn't really consider any of them for towing.

We intend to order a 2024 F150 in the next month or so for the purposes of towing. When we look to replace the F25 X3 in 2-4 years, we would look for a larger SUV but we would most likely be deciding between a Suburban/Yukon XL/Expedition Max or a Ford Explorer.

The X5 and X7 are good all-around SUV, but once you're in that price range, I think most households that are not space limited have 3 or more cars. At that point, each one doesn't have to be necessarily good at everything, but they have to provide a capability that the X5 or X7 doesn't have. That's where we are at.

The problem is that those of us that have a passion for European Delivery are a very very short list of BMW clients. Most BWW drivers have no idea it ever existed.

Unfortunately if you want to European Delivery, you have to go with either Porsche or Volvo. Would love for BMW to bring back Euro Delivery though

BMW is all about charging more for less now. Ain’t happening.

Still hacked off about shorter warranty and maintenance coverage and maintenance not automatically transferring to pre-owned buyers. Watch ‘em go 3/36k in the years ahead. Not to mention CPO being shorter as well. Total joke.
