Vorsteiner's BMW G8X M3 M4 Aero Program

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Nineteen years ago, our pioneering spirit began from designing components for BMW not only because we were growing amongst enthusiasts, but primarily because we enjoy it. It’s no surprise that we’re particularly passionate about developing products for BMW aficionados that love them as much as we do. Fast forward and we have progressed three generations of M3/M4 to the current G8X generation. The G8X M3 & M4 launched with a very distinct change of direction in terms of styling, where opinions were very much polarized, so we’ve gone back to our roots.

The M3/M4 GTS-V series represents the latest in high performance, design, and manufacturing by focusing on maximizing the cooling performance, improving airflow dynamics all the while minimizing weight. Designed with precision and engineering mastery, our Aero Program is ingeniously engineered to be a seamless bolt-on solution, eliminating the need for any vehicle modifications, or cutting. We value the integrity of your BMW G8X as much as you do. Each piece is specifically designed to accentuate and enhance the existing body lines of the car. At the core of this program is dedication to excellence and artistry. Every product is designed and constructed using only the finest materials, such as aerospace grade prepreg carbon fiber, ensuring that each item is not only robust and long-lasting, but also lightweight and aerodynamic.

The new Pre-Preg autoclave double sided Carbon Fiber vented hood contains 4 vent outlets to dissipate heat from the forced induction engine bay and keep the turbos running cool.

See our full aero program for the BMW G8X M3 and M4 models here:

After reading this I must be unlucky.
I received my ABS grill (G82) here in Scotland two days ago, and it’s been far from fitment without cutting.
I actually emailed you with my concern regarding the radar and conflicting information on the web after placing my order (with Kies MS). Didn’t get a reply yet.
Your online fitment video is wrong, the info regarding bumper removal is incorrect (it’s not the 10mm bolt that’s removed, it’s two 8mm screws each side)
Anyway, sorry to hijack this thread but I’ve had a negative experience and to be honest I thought your products would be dialed in.

I had to cut 20mm off the foam crash protection (not where PDC is but the entire length of it) before I could get the bumper seated again. I’m far from happy about this.
Also, I had to cut my new grill in two places to accept the radar bracket top and bottom.
Lastly, you do not provide a place for the M4 C badge. I wasn’t willing to take a step backwards and delete it so I came up with my own solution.
See attached pics.

One last thing after looking at your post again.
I’m also now unable to fit my number plate, but I realise why i didn’t see this issue coming.
Your images show the grill a lot further forward than the actual part sits.
You’ll see in my first set of pictures the middle horizontal part is set far back, too far to 3m sticky pad my number plate as I had on the OEM grill.
But the picture you posted below shows it sitting almost flush with the front of the bumper?

Looks like the one you installed and the one in the last picture are 2 different grills.

Exactly.
Maybe they are, but I’ve heard nothing from them.
They give the option for radar/ no radar on their site. However on Kies site it’s not an option and it specifically says “not compatible with radar”.
But Kies replied to my mail and confirmed it was…

I cant speak for the fitment issues with cutting everything as we only had to cut a small piece off the foam support, but the picture you posted is different, its the full carbon,
the abs actually has a different design overall, it does indeed sit back in the bumper not flush to the end, personally I feel this looks much much better and the grill itself is more detailed

Just me, very happy with my abs Vorsteiner grill.

There’s a time and place to seek help from a vendor/supplier. This is not the time. Or the place.

Curious to see if anyone goes for the full bumper. The Adro design reminds me of a catfish/ant eater snout. The vorsteiner design seems much better.

Why not? They’re touting a product that another forum member clearly is having issues with. It’s not on their website, it’s a forum. They should’ve shown up prepared for this if they can’t respond to an email from a customer.

[QUOTE="Blindside_137;30469567"]There’s a time and place to seek help from a vendor/supplier. This is not the time. Or the place.

Curious if your referring to my post?
If so I’d also be curious to how you would react when reading their post yesterday in my situation.
I invested in a quality product, I’ve had more than one issue it’s fair to say and tbo It’s not been a great experience.
The wording in their post seems to centre on the OEM fitment and ‘plug and play’ nature of the products. While I can’t comment on anything else they produce I am well within my comfort zone commenting on the experience I’ve had this week with the Aero ABS grill.
Also, I’ll be the first to give credit where it’s due. I’m not impressed with the inaccurate video, photoshopped pictures, general confusion over radar/no radar fitment and not getting support when requested.
What I’m now confused about is are there actually two types of ABS grill, their site lets you select radar/no radar.
Kies do not have this option.
I noticed this immediately after placing my order and proceeded to email the vendor, then after a few days past without reply I mailed the manufacturer.
As yet this is yet to be confirmed.

Yes. You said you received it two days ago. That means it’s given you one day to install and probably one day to hear back. Was that one email? Did you try calling? Regardless, that’s hardly enough time to even give them a chance. And if there are issues with improper socket size recommendations then sure they need to update the video but come on. You also bought from Kies no? You first should have been reaching out to them. It sounds like you said you did and after they ghosted you then you reached out to vorsteiner. Did you even give them 24 hours yet?

Perhaps you are on to something with a defective product or inauthentic product depending on radar option. If kies website states that it is not compatible with radar but you bought it anyway, that is on you. Again not getting an email reply happens a lot with spam filtering these days. A simple phone call could have helped prevent a mistake like this if indeed it cannot be fitted to radar equipped cars.

Sounds like again this is something that needs to be looked into, but does not require a post like this after not getting an email reply in one or two days.

I think he is justified to comment here, and share his experiences. Why are people making excuses for Vorsteiner (or any manufacturer). Customer service matters, and more companies need to focus on that rather than just scaling as fast as possible, especially in niche products/ communities. It’s hard to separate the influencer hype from real world experiences at times, so I appreciate Custom Install commenting. It’s annoying to tear down your car, get in the middle of a project, and stuff isn’t correct and no one gets back to you. That is exactly the job of the manufacturer and their information should be on point. I am not sure why we say it’s ok to get products with the wrong hardware, or missing elements, or without proper/ correct information, and we should just shut up and wait. Nope.

Facts.

When one pays “no-fucking-style” money for genuine parts, the installation should nearly be a right-click & paste process.
