Next year marks my 30-year anniversary with BMW Financial Services, and yes -- that paper trail is visible to Genius reps (they brought it up, not me). I'm not sure that gains you much advantage in an escalation, if any; but your loyalty is worth mentioning.

If you're a BMW CCA member, another avenue is their ombudsman program (look up your region's rep in the Roundel). They'll have more experience and contacts to escalate and resolve thorny matters than you or I ever will!

Yeah, but will we (Build Week 40) hit 1,000 posts on this thread?!?

It seems there were either a lot of us scheduled the same week, or we chatted about a variety of hiccups along the way to taking delivery, or we're just a chatty bunch. Regardless, I haven't seen any other build week threads be so active.

Alas (or thankfully) this too shall pass as we all begin taking delivery and moving on to more gratifying pursuits .. like mod threads.

My Week 40 G30 is still on the Hawaiian Highway. Won't hit a VPC or PDC for another week or so and also has the Amp "stop sale".

Thanks but it's going to Port Charleston, and ultimately Greer, SC for PCD, which I believe is the last port it visits before returning across the Atlantic.

However, I called the Genius about 30 minutes ago and they have an estimated arrival date at the dealer of 11/29. That's Monday! Can that possibly be correct?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but my personal experience (in the Baltimore VPC, and others at different ports) leads me to believe that the system autogenerates a delivery date assuming the vehicles have no open work orders, which is rarely the case.

When your RAM issue shows closed, start getting excited about delivery.

Finally .. after the RAM stop sale closed midday last Thursday, status finally progressed from "at the port" to "at the dealership" -- which given it's PCD means being trucked from one side of SC101 to the other.

Delivery is scheduled for two weeks from today. According to the PCD documents I received, the Greer VPC delivers vehicles to the Performance Center two weeks in advance. So it all makes sense.

Congrats man. From my experience, the car I picked up at the PC was the best prepped new car I have ever taken delivery of. A real strong detail job.

Very reassuring to know! Plans to install PPF in Greenville didn't work out, so I've ordered XPEL Tracwrap to cover vulnerable areas for the 1,000-mile trip home. I'll detail the car again myself when it gets home, then have PPF installed a couple weeks later. I'll also apply the ceramic coating myself (done it several times).
