Michelin Cup 2 is optional for Canadian orders?

I saw an image from a dealership that the M4 comes with Michelin Cup 2, and the SA said it is the $750 track tire option.

I always thought that $750 option is for the 825/826 wheels...
Does anyone know if it's true? Is that a benefit for Canadian orders only?
Seems US guys can only pray for the tire lottery.

I thought the "Tire Lottery" was between the Pirelli PZeros And Michelin PS 4s. Most want the Michelin tires but it could be build using the Pirelli's.

It's great we get the option and for 750$cad I would pick it up everytime, worst case you sell the Cup2s for 2500$ to a fellow owner who tracks and buy what you want or PS4S.

Ya, I'm willing to get anyone a new set of P4S or other tires for trades on a set of the Cup2 tires.

Yes, it's code 1T9 for the Cups on bicolour 826's, 1U1 on the black 826's. Both are indeed $750 options. Not available on 825's.

Not available in the States on any rim; poor wet weather performance + litigiousness = no bueno?

Mine are either at port or on a boat right now. Because this is Canada I don't actually know which.

I mean, it sounds like you'll find out before I do, then ...

... but they're not going to be undrivable. Just back off when conditions are marginal.

This is just my option but I have driven the car during normal rain conditions and it was perfectly fine. Though if you look at the tread pattern you can see the channels to expel water aren't deep so you'll definitely want to be more cautious during heavy rainfalls.

I don't suppose you're running spacers, are you?

The Pirellis seem to run wider than the PS4S, but I have no idea where the Cups slot into that continuum.

Would presumably do 15/12 if they don't rub or 12/12 if they would, but real world experience (if you or anyone else has it) would be ideal.

I have 15 in the rear, no rubbing but they do poke out a bit from the fender. Looks super aggressive but if you don't like that look I'd go 12's for the flush look.

The BMW dealer tried 18's in the front but they rubbed too much so they were removed. No wheel well modification was attempted so I'm not sure if cutting a few fins would alleviate the issue.

Currently I have no spacer up front which really accentuates the rear flare with the slight poke I have with the 15's in the rear.

I'm not sure if I'm going to bother changing things but if I do I'd get 12's for the rear and put the 15's up front.

Subjective. Lol!

The pics aren't the best but the tire side wall does stick out beyond the fender arch about 1/4". As most would like the flush with the fender look I figured anything beyond would be considered aggressive.

Anyway, glad this helps you and good luck with your setup.

Just curious about life expectancy on the cup 2's. I don't track so is it still worth it to get them?

To be clear, are these the Cup 2 Connects or the regular Cup 2s?

Can’t speak for the cup 2s on an M3/4 but my buddy had them on his Shelby GT350 and got 12k km out of them ( honestly he should of changed them earlier as the rears we complete slick). He doesn’t track the car.

The Cup 2s on a GT350 come new almost bald. They are specific for that car. I’m impressed he got them to last that long.

Cups 2s do change a fair bit for each brand and allocation. Haven’t seen the BMW ones yet but the Porsche ones come with decent amount of tread. I get two seasons out of mine on my GT3 and now Speedster.

I have May production and the black out rims plus “track tires” which hopefully will be Cup 2s is $1250 on my order sheet.
