That's crazy. I feel guilty that mine finally closed. There is no rhyme or reason for their process. It just seems like we'll we screwed you the more than that guy so we may as well keep with the theme.

It's probably just that. Why frustrate dozens/hundreds of customers with delays when we can just keep screwing a few ones over and over |

So has anyone in Canada successfully negotiated some type of compensatory perk? I've heard some in the USA are getting a free day of BMW performance driving. |

Hi all,
I was directed to this thread after posting questions on the regular 3&4 series thread. I ordered my M440 xi Cab last June and am still waiting for delivery. It was a September, 2021 production and was built and shipped last October. Apparently BMW discovered an issue with the RAM module so the car was returned to Bremerhaven (according to the dealer they turned the ship around!) to have the faulty RAM replaced. It sat there until January when the car was finally shipped to Halifax. At the time I was told to expect delivery in February. As I write this email my car is apparently still sitting in Halifax waiting for the RAM replacement (I guess they ran out of room in Bremerhaven so shipped the car without fixing the faulty module). The last update a week ago was that my car is expected to be "on rail" in March so expect an "April delivery". I would have thought my car would be at the front of the proverbial line for the replacement RAM module but looking at this forum it appears there are others who have been waiting even longer. It seems that people who ordered cars in the US well after I placed my order are getting their cars. I note that country wide inventory search in Canada shows not a single M440i Cab at any dealer in Canada so maybe the problem is still pretty widespread. I spoke to my dealer again today and they expressed frustration at the lack of information. They have 30 customers in the same boat (many who are probably calling regularly wondering where their cars are!). I also called BMW Canada but they were not helpful at all. In fact they advised that they don't get involved in the ordering process - it is a direct link between dealer and factory. Accordingly, I am intrigued to see folks getting better responses from BMW. Who did you call (or which number)? Also, I see people have been able to track the status of their cars online. How was this done? I tried multiple different links but nothing worked. I was led to believe that there was no tracking for Canadian customers (in fact BMW Canada told me this earlier this week). Given that it is not exactly convertible weather here yet, I can wait a bit longer but am pleased to see some cars seem to be getting released. Does anyone know where the cars sit in Halifax? Does BMW have a VPC (VDC) there? I could find nothing online. Thanks. |

In Canada we don't have reliable tracking and no app like Americans do to track each step. The contact centre is useless so don't bother. If your car has actually landed at Port of Entry then it's here: https://www.portofhalifax.ca/facilit...ties/autoport/ And no, you cannot go pick it up there - we don't have a Canadian delivery centre. You're stuck like the rest of us and at the mercy of BMW's ability to send their cars to customers, regardless of any First In, First Out production schedule. |

[QUOTE=Kimchiguy79;28721148]I find it difficult to believe they would turn the ship around after discovering on board that your car's RAM was faulty.
I found it difficult to believe as well. When I expressed my disbelief to the dealer he noted that there were many BMWs on the ship similarly affected. However, I expect your suggestion is more plausible. Regardless of where it is or how it got there the unfortunate reality is that I don't have it and nobody seems to have any idea I might get it. |

It gives you hope buddy…I remember checking for any slight change just to see if there was progress. As a reminder, we ordered last May, built in Oct, and is now on a ship one day away from Halifax. Keep hope alive! It will happen…eventually
