I'm suspect, because I'd spec an M3 with sunroof every time.

Hopefully MXDrive will be available with a manual transmission on the new M3. I will definitely purchase one then. If not, I definitely will not purchase one and keep the AWD MT BMW that I currently have.

If they can make it where you can truly choose RWD without compromising safety then I can see your statement being true.

Also, the take rate on the M4 is definitely in the double digits. It's actually a fair chunk of the cars. Since they're offering it in the M4, it's also pretty logical to offer it in the M3 since they're mechanically the same car anyway. |

Good news to hear it is an options to have AWD RWD M3/4 but I personally like new M5 system can switch around RWD and AWD,
I really don't see why ppl complained about M3/4 has to stay RWD only , This Car is build as fun performance car with daily drive able isn't it ? For weight increase really for those of you do care about 1-2% of weight gain ? You want to go lighter take out your rear seat passenger seat , now less weight and no more worries for extra passenger to gain extra weights |

Ghats what I did for many M3 I owned and got sick of it. End up getting M5 In the Picture is what I had for summer only and winter. What a waist for me, car you love to drive sits most of the time collecting dust |

Please BMW don't take it away. I grow up with manual and it's so much more fun and engaging to drive. I just want to have MT and AWD

AWD M3 with Auto, yes please. If I lived in hot climate I would do RWD without question.
Had manual F80 and didn't like the way it suited the F80 like others said, but I love me a manual on a Fiat Abarth or something of that weight and size. Also on the track, manuals are not even close to fun for me...too much work, wear on the clutch, room for error and slower out of a turn = unnecessary... |

I also test drove the new m5 and loved it but it is not a sports car per se so my expectations were different. My point is that RWD will give speed and cool tech but also will cost a lot and may take away from the concept of 3er M.... we shall see..
