SSG has been good, just have a ceramic coating on it, and holding up well after nearly 30k kms.
Not good - if I did it again, I’d PPF the entire sides of the car. I hand wash carefully, so there’s no problems derived from that. It’s a soft and very reflective paint, so any issues get magnified. Where I have PPF - entire front, lower side doors, rockers, partial rear impact panels, lower rear fenders - flawless. Where I don’t, I have some issues that I’ll have to deal with.

Alright, thanks for the insight. I guess full ppf is a must with TB.

Just full sides and front (incl hood and a pillars). The roof and trunklid and back is overkill. Ceramic is a must too, of course.

After her first wash. Still need to have all of the carbon installed and PPF finished and ceramic coated.

Honestly after going through all the $4500 individual colors, I think TanzB and DravitG are my two favorite colors...Grigio Telesto was the only individual color that I liked as much.

TB just works on this platform.

In the shop finishing up the PPF, ceramic, tints, and some exterior cosmetic touches. I can’t wait to pick her up and see it in person!

Any chance you're in SE PA? My G82 will be here in a couple of weeks and am looking to get PPF/Ceramic/Tint done --- looking for shop rec's. Can you share any info on rough costs and timelines?

Also, your TB build looks amazing - great color. I was torn between that and Brooklyn and decided to do something different than my current Azurite Black F82 which is pretty similar, albeit a bit darker, than TB. Good luck with it.

Did you end up doing full or partial PPF? I’m still trying to decide what to do.

Full. Since I don’t have a garage, I wanted as much paint protection as I could get. Plus, with the color being on the dark side, the inevitable swirl marks would have driven me nuts.

Thanks for the love!

Unfortunately, I’m in central PA. I used to be in the Phila area. 10 years ago, I had the front end on my 2014 435 PPF’d and tints installed by Shades of Gray in Feasterville. Not sure exactly where you are located but Acap films in the West Chester/Malvern area has been recommended by some on this forum. A friend of mine just had their Tesla stealth wrapped there and it looks awesome.

Expect it to take around a week for everything and cost around $7000.

Good luck!

This is what I’ve been leaning towards as well — for the exact same reasons.

Hey guys, any TBII owners in the SoCal area that would be willing to meet up with me so I can see the color in person? I specced my June allocation G80 with TBII and want to make sure I made the right choice. Thank you.

Irvine has a preowned M3 and Century West an M4. Not sure where you are but you could pop over to one of those.

And trust us, it’s the right choice

I’ll tell you, I was going back and forth on it too. Once I saw the color at the dealer there was no question.
