This is not true completely. The 991.2GTS ran 7:23 on previous genCup tires, same as what the M4 was on (except the M4's were newer generation). The 992S on the same tires would be right around the .2 GTS time of 7:23 which is absurdly fast for a car with only 440 hp.

I saw that after I posted. Yes, he did but he also stated the .2 GTS is faster than the 992S, which on the same tires it is not, which I just posted about. The M4 does have a better power to weight ratio too...

Do you have evidence of a time that shows the 991.2 GTS is in fact slower on the ring then the a 992 C2S that has modern Cup 2s? Or are you guesstimating? As this thread proves, guesstimating about a cars time can be wrong.

Regardless, I was doing the comparison stock offering to stock offering of the prior Gen. Cup tires were a configurable options on the 991.2 GTS if I recall correctly whereas they aren't on the 992S.

Those are not all Sport Auto times--- I was personally asking for Sport Auto times to keep as many variables static since they do independent testing. But even then, as mentioned, things just change day to day. But these are not times by the manufacturer which I like because it keeps some bias out.
Here's the list of Sport Auto times for BMW:

8:05 E92 M3 6MT (PSC+)
7:52 F82 M4 DCT (PSS)
7:52,36 F87 M2C DCT (???)
7:50 E46 M3CSL SMG (PSC)
7:43 F87 M2CS DCT (PSC2)
7:42 F82 M4CS DCT (PSC2)
7:37 F82 M4GTS DCT (PSC2)
7:35,90 F90 M5C (P Zero)
7:32,79 G15 M8C (P Zero)
7:30,79 G82 M4C (PSC2)
7:29,57 F90 M5CS (P Zero Corsa)

Other notable mentions:

7:46,70 Porsche 718 Cayman S (???)
7:45,19 Mercedes-AMG E 63 S (???)
7:34,00 Porsche 911 Carrera S (991.2) (???)
7:30,41 Porsche 911 Carrera S (992) (Pirelli P Zero NA1)
7:27,48 Ferrari 812 Superfast (P Zero Corsa)
7:23,77 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS (991.2) (???)

I don't see the full car list, except if you want to go to their YouTube channel and grab each cars individual lap time and compile a list.
Nice table👍
Thanks for sharing.

Im wondering if M8C with MPSS or MP4S can go sub 7:30 !
M8C is lighter , 4" shorter , 3" less height and lower center of gravity than M5CS. It's also faster in 0-60, 0-100 and 1/4 miles

I’m curious myself why BMW put Pirellis on the MxDrive cars(Zero or Zero Corsa) they lend for the supertest. Is PSC2 not as good on AWD cars? Anyone know if there is a performance reason to use Pirellis over Michelins on AWD cars? I see some of the Lambos on the fast list also use Pirellis, that can be a Viva Italia thing though I guess

Understood but so does the other BMWs on the list but only the Xdrive cars are consistently delivered to the Supertest on Pirellis. A bit odd unless they are regarded to be the best stock tire for the track.

Is he using the paddle shifters to upshift/downshift manually or is he leaving it in auto?

I think I can see him downshift but I can't tell if he's upshifting?

If I'm not mistaken Randy Probst left it in auto when he did his fast lap(s) so curious to know if that's what the pro's prefer, which would surprise me to be honest.

I noticed those damp portions as well. Wonder what sort of time it would put up on a completely dry track.
