We ran into a problem were the fronts did not lower much at all when the adjusters were set to the lowest setting. Going to wait if it settles a bit and go from there. We will be adjusting the rear height on Sunday as the rear is sitting too low for my taste. Once I have the heights dialed in, I will take measurements of the adjusters gaps so people can refer to that.
Thanks for the update. Interesting about the fronts not lowering even when set to lowest setting. Curious to hear what happens after it settles. Think they’re supposed to be ~ 1.2” drop?

yeah supposed to be 32mm up front. I did measure again this morning and it dropped .6in So I am guessing it will settle down to an 1in eventually. The wheel gap is so huge that it just looked like it didn't drop at all.

If you are going to install yourself, I highly recommend Stew's Garage in Kirkland. You can rent out a lift.

God, I hope it just needs to settle… I believe the set that Evolve used in their MSS videos were development sets, but right after installing it looked a lot lower than stock in the front.

Rewatched the video and wondering if ok to remove the adjuster to get a bit lower in the front. Probably not recommended….

The top adjuster is what holds the spring in place. If removed, there will be side to side play since the lower part is thinner.

The drops were VERY close to being equal on both so tolerances are pretty tight. I highly suggest measuring out the gaps with digital calipers before doing your own or having someone else do the install.

My drop ended up being 25mm(7mm gap between adjusters) in the rear and 15mm(2mm gap between adjusters) up front.
The rear will probably settle a little so measuring the gap difference in relation with the max drop amount should be spot on in the rear. I will have to wait and see with the front. The fronts are the ones that usually settle more.

I am going to raise the rear 5mm tomorrow and drop to max amount in the front. A month later I will readjust again.

Hi, I have a G80 on order and am thinking about the MSS srpings when it arrives so am interested to see if yours settles more at the front then the 15mm + another 2mm you already have to go on the adusters ??

Had a similar experience with Dinan HAS I installed on my F80 where the front appeared to not settle. Finally settled to expected drop but adjusters had to be bottomed out!😀 I’m sure these will settle more up front as well. And this time I’ll definitely consider going to a garage vs. doing it in my own garage without a lift! Thanks for the garage recommendation in Kirkland.

Hi - Just wondering if your front has settled anymore than the above 15mm ?

Just to clarify the kit we fitted in the video had already been on the car for around 1000 miles before we re-fitted it for the video. So it was already fully settled.

@Imran@Evolve

Hi Imran, there was a mention on another thread that some of the bolts that need to be removed are single use? Some people seem to reuse them and others think it's crucial to replace these one time bolts.

Do you guys know anything about this?

Thanks!

In technically, if you really want to follow BMW official instruction, yes, you will need to renew all of the nuts and bolts.

Roughly on top of my head, roughly they are about 24 nuts & bolts.
With ranging from $2-$5/each.

Is it necessary? It is depending on the condition of the removed hardwares.
If the car is still within 2-3 years and in good climate area (no road salt or rain), 99% of the time the hardwares are still in good condition and re-usable.

Now for my next question, I have seen people talk about oem vs the mss provided rubber mount. Which is better to use?

If you use the OEM mount your ride will suck--- a few members here tried it and its like bottoming out.

Im on the MSS mount and the ride is really excellent. Im happy with MSS- not elated as the front could be lower but the drive is OEM like.

Imran@Evolve May we know if you're gonna send the new updated front kit that MSS just released? Those of us who ordered from you are not getting any info on this. And yet other US retailers are giving this as a free upgrade. Thanks

Interested in this as well.
Following the purchase of the MSS kit for my old F87, I was confident in the quality and the advertised drop of 30 ± 3mm.
Comparing the two kits, the G8x kit definitely does not drop as much as I anticipated.
Looking forward to how MSS and Evolve responds to this.

Same, I had the MSS kit on my F87C too. I got good support from both Evolve and MSS before. I hope that they will continue providing good customer support for their loyal customers. You should be able to get the upgraded front kit at no additional cost with a new purchase.
