Annual BCX "Summer Sunrise Drive" Bucks County PA 6/10/2023
Hello Again Bimmer friends,
We are planning the annual "Summer Sunrise Drive for the morning of 6/10/2023. I wanted to pass this along to you guys because I know several of you have participated on the past. I will add more details as they become available, but the following is the essential information: Date: Saturday 6/10/2023 Place: Washington Crossing Historic Park, Bucks County PA. We will meet at the "Valley of Concentration" parking lot within the park. The address for the park is: 1112 River Rd, Washington Crossing, PA 18977 Time: Meeting between 5:45am and 6:15am. We will be departing at 6:20am sharp! Please make sure that you have fueled up prior to arriving, as we will not be stopping for fuel once we leave. I anticipate a drive of somewhere between 50 and 75 miles. Additional information: I will have the route posted here prior to the drive. I anticipate that we will have a stop at the Van Sant Historic Airport during the drive, as we have done in the past. There is a bathroom and its a nice spot for pictures. After we leave the airport we will continue to *Updated* Menard Premium Detailing for the annual "Tacos and Tailpipes car meet! In the event of poor weather, I will do my best to make determination for cancelation no later that Friday evening, so please check back if the forecast is questionable. Hope to see some of you there!

The route is completed. A few things I wanted to share with you guys...
This year's route is significantly shorter (29 miles). Unfortunately the state of disrepair of Bucks County roads, as well as those that have been recently milled and/or oil and chipped is astounding! The original route I wanted to take had to be completed trashed because of roadwork or just terrible road conditions. So Unfortunately this year it's a shorter, somewhat less back road(ish) drive because I don't want to nuke anyone's suspension, wheels or paintwork. A few things to keep in mind: Make sure you have at least enough fuel for the trip to Van Sant Airport and enough to get from there to Menards Premium Detailing after (if you are going with the group). We are not stopping for fuel. As always, I will monitor the weather and make the best call I can by at least Friday evening, the night before the drive. If it needs to be postponed I will work on a make up date and let everyone know. Hope to see you there! Here is the route: Shared route From Valley of Concentration parking lot, Washington Crossing, PA 18977 to Van Sant Airport, 516 Cafferty Rd, Erwinna, PA 18920 via PA-32 N. 52 min (29 mi) 52 min in current traffic For the best route in current traffic visit https://maps.app.goo.gl/rF6xFRHN1VxCV6ZM6 |

I can't make it but I hope the weather is good and everyone has a great time. I grew up in Perkasie and I can shut my eyes and just run through so many of those great roads. For the longest time, the bridge at the bottom of Headquarter Road (down the hill from the airport) was closed. I always wondered if they eventually opened it. Make sure you post some pics.
