So another kid who thought that he knew how to drive... M3 crashes into 7er

So I went through my Twitter feed this evening and found this. I honestly don’t even know how to comment on that without offending many people. I really hope everyone was/is fine after this.

m3 crashes into a 7 series and a z4 almost gets caught in the middle. btw that officer needs to go buy a lottery ticket after that.

^^beat me to it. yours posted while I was typing... apparently very slowly. hahahahaa

1) glad the officer made it out alive - and reportedly fairly un-harmed! - hoping the same for everyone else.

2) What in Billy Bob Thornton's Dirty Southern Uncle is going on in that video!?

Officer has a 5 or 7 series pulled over.

M3 comes careening across the interstate backwards

Z4 slows down just enough to whisper bumpers at the "head-on" M3....

It's.... odd.

I immediately hop over that guard rail if I see that coming! The officer is very, very lucky!

Very true. 20mph over the limit is automatic reckless driving, which in VA, it's considered a class one misdemeanor.

Yup. Full of speed traps in rural areas too. Half of the cars in New Jersey any given morning would be impounded in VA.

Shoulders are notorious for crashes. I’ve instructed wifey to drag the car all the way to a safe place.

Yup, I hope that I'm quick-witted enough to do that instead of doing that Charlize Theron run from Prometheus.

I would probably be dead or in jail if I had one of today’s M2/3/4/5 when I was a teenager 40 years ago. Hopefully I would not have killed anyone else. I watched that video and everyone was lucky. There is a similar video from about 6 months ago in which a kid driving an M5 killed a cop.

How does 17yo ends up in an M3? Looks like this tiny detail is unnoticed.

When my kids were small (2006), and I had a modified Subaru STi, I read a news article that profoundly disturbed me.

Two brothers were street racing each other in two STis given to them by their parents. The STis were presents for good grades. They had an accident and someone died. A bystander asked one of the distraught brothers if she could help call a parent.

"Hello, is this Chris' mom? I'm here with Chris. There's been an accident."

"No, Chris is fine, he's here with me. His brother Ryan? Hold on..."

"Chris says Ryan is dead."

I can't find the original aricle, but there is this... https://www.clubwrx.net/threads/06-s...hicago.140942/

Ah, the arrogance of youth. Believing yourself to be immortal and omnipotent.

Glad everyone was OK.

Disagree.

Even though when we were teens (1970s) we all had the hand-me-down 300-500hp cars that handled like a wooden box full of drying cement. Accidents happened, and sometimes stupidity was to blame, but racing or generally reckless driving was often relegated to backroads, not among traffic.

Seems many entitled younger people today just don't give a fuck about common courtesy or have much appreciation for human life.

To be fair it's more about understanding today's car safety technology and advancements allows you to crash and survive at those speeds. At least that was my mindset when I did "stupid" things a few years back.

..notwithstanding those you might involve as collateral damage.

For sure I take that in consideration but you also have to live your life, it's not because there is a 1% chance something bad might happen that I won't do it, I'll be honest here. I know my limits to but yeah. Just driving the speed limit and respecting laws can cause collateral damage....
