MSRP or mark up on M3
Current X5 owner. Looking into ordering an M3 in a few months. My local dealership offered $2500 market adjustment rate over MSRP and ~4 month delivery from order.
Is this the going rate currently or have you guys been able to order an M3 at MSRP? |

From my experience msrp deals are available a lot! Catch is u need to wait to get them I have rarely seen msrp with immediate allocation. When u pay over sticker you should have immediate allocation. Choice is yours both options exist though. And depending on your market $2500 for an immediate allocation seems like a great deal!!

If you order and sit in a waitlist, you can get it at MSRP, but no guarantee on time when youll get an allocation. If a dealer is telling you $2500 and ~4 months, likely they are getting the allocations and selling them to the folks willing to pay it. There are a few dealers I've spoken to who are essentially not putting people on waitlists and just selling the allocations as they come in. All depends on your patience and if you're okay with paying the markup.

I got $1900 off MSRP from a Dec 2021 order on a March 2022 delivery (VERY BAD time as Munich was shut down due to the wiring harnesses from Ukraine the week I received my car).
You shouldn't be paying above MSRP. Dealers are struggling and they were charging $15k markup 3 months ago. They will be much cheaper soon. If you can wait, wait a few months. |

OP - Most are paying MSRP and waiting a few months for an allocation. It's unlikely you will be able to walk into a dealer in January and pay MSRP for an immediate allocation. If you want a car in March, I would start calling around now to see how long the lists are for the dealers in your area.

Did the dealership charging an $2500 ADM say they have an allocation / production number ? If they do, I would def take that if u want ur car in a reasonable time frame 4-6 months. If you are willing to wait 6-9 months or even more, you can call around and find a dealer thats doing MSRP but also likely to have a large order bank and so no guarantee u will get the car anytime soon.

What was the $1500 rebate? I didn’t know they were still doing loyalty on the Ms but I’ll take it!

For example, if you pay 3k ADM but can find a 4% interest rate, vs getting 5k off MSRP and paying 7% interest? Not sure how deep a discount will be available even in the downturn (compared to pre pandemic discounts), and not sure how much rates will actually go up (especially for those savvy enough to find the best rates). |

Nobody can predict the future. We will probably see higher interest rates, we might see another MSRP increase. We aren't likely to see pricing significantly below MSRP until dealers are sitting with unused allocations.
Keep an eye on M4 pricing as it's been less constrained vs. M3. So far haven't seen any M4 discounting. |

M3 and M4 are not the same. M3 is more likely to be marked up and a longer wait. It seems related to the capacities of the factories. Munich (M3) vs. Dingolfing (M4)

Same here. Did you go to BMW Nashville in Cool Springs? I originally went there and they were trying to sell for like 15 to 20k over MSRP.
Another local owner here said they call and was told they sell at MSRP. BMW Nashville blows. I wont purchase from them. If you want a contact in Chattanooga, let me know. I ordered mine from them at MSRP and got an allocation in 29 days. |
