Sorry to hijack the thread but I have vr titanium exhaust on my m4 and it makes a loud rattle at startup and also during low rpm accelerations. I've read on forum here that some owner fix this same problem by installing sst controller. I'm just trying to understand how installing the sst controller will fix the rattle. I just wanted to clarify before I pull the trigger on the controller. Thank you!

If the valves are loose they cause a rattle, forcing them open or close will keep them in place and fix the rattle

Hello Mike, thanks for your response. It makes sense. I did notice the rattle goes away if I turn off the sound control from center console. Can you please PM me price shipped to 96740? Is there a website to order? Thanks

Adding the official response I just received from SST - hopefully this ends up helping someone else looking to do this for a different exhaust that has slightly flapping valves:

Switch on the ignition, press and hold buttons C and D on the remote control simultaneously for 8-9 seconds. But it also depends on the servomotors installed, whether they can do that at all or whether they even need calibration. If it doesn't work, please contact us again.

Installed today. Decided not to mess with the battery compartment and followed this video. Install took like 10 mins. Significant difference with the sound when valves are open. Will wait for my 1200 service before I install the MAD single Midpipe.

Hardest thing will be figuring out a good location for the remote lol.

Hey, guys, I'm about to order this but my question is the instructions mention the link between the ECU and the flap control module, do I have to put it back to factory mode every time I go to the dealer and will it throw a code? Thank you.

Knocked it out from inside. Drilled two 1/4” holes then cut a slit from one side through the first hole and into the second. That way I could spread it open and insert the wires through the slit.

How did you get to it? I looked around behind the rear fender liner and couldn't find any way to get to it from the other side...

They sprayed undercoating over it. You can barely make it out from the outside.
A couple good smacks from inside, the coating cracks and plug pops out.
If you live in a salt area maybe reinstall with some silicone to seal it.

Just wanted to update since I just got this installed.

Holding C and D for 8 seconds and then releasing caused the servos to open and close twice. After that, the valves both opened and closed fully.

No more rattling from the Dinan valves!

Not sure if you ordered this yet, but your problem sounds the exact same as mine.

The controller was able to reprogram the angles and eliminate the rattle of the aftermarket valves. Sounds like it would help you, too.

Hold C and D on the remote for 8 seconds, wait for the sounds to complete, and the rattle will be gone. Well worth the price.
