The price differences from country to country are really significant. Here in Switzerland the M4 Comp xDrive (with standard spec) and base 992 Carrera cost almost exactly the same.

Pictures appear to show a carbon fiber roof with a sun roof. That's new.

It's not a carbon roof. If you option the sunroof, you get get a black painted roof (not sure if you can option it without the black paint or not).

I believe the black painted roof is part of the graphics package, otherwise the sunroof has a body colored roof.

I'm really unsure about this new facelift...the g82 is looking ultra frumpy and baby-suv-ish....

I haven't seen that the flat bottom steering wheel is part of the LCI as standard. So, yeah, likely an option? Anyone know any details?

Looks like the leather flat bottom wheel is standard and the alcantara version is part of the carbon package.

I've ordered mine, flat bottom is standard, but alcantara is not part of carbon package, but a stand alone option.

It is both a stand alone option and a part of the Carbon package.

If you want a special car that’s practical but edgy and fun, you buy an M3/Touring.

If you want a sports car, you buy one. (That’s the 911)

The M4 is somewhere in the middle. It’s less practical than the M3 but no more a sports car. So I guess you do the M4 if a coupe is really your style.

Sure, 911’s on average are going to be more expensive than M4’s, but they’re getting close enough to warrant the comparison. And if a sports car experience is what you’re after, you’re getting more with the 911 than the M4.

Here’s another in-depth comparison. This was a couple years ago in the UK, but in this case the 911 was actually the cheaper car and the M4 was only RWD:

https://youtu.be/N_5X9iGhVQA?si=8s8PA-ya9rDemoBv
I see you are in Canada…The pricing, ADM’s and waitlists on 911’s are absolutely insane…used 911 prices are also ridiculous. (I nearly put myself on a waitlist for a Carrera S a couple of years ago and prices are significantly higher now than then)

I previously owned a ‘22 G80 M3 and currently have a ‘24 G82 M4 Comp X-Drive. The M3 is more practical with the 4 doors and seating for 5 but the M4 looks and feels more like a sports car. The M4 has much more practicality than the 911 when it comes to rear seating. I’m 6 feet and can sit comfortably back there and my teenage/adult kids fit back there fine. No way they’d fit in the 911. (We tried)

The 911 is no doubt an amazing car but you’re talking 60-80K price difference when you factor in ADMs and comparable options.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but do you all think the flat bottom steering wheel will be an option to buy from BMW directly and have them install in my 2024 G82? And if so, do you all think the heater function will still be able to be activated for the idrive8 controls since there’s not a button on it?

Nobody knows at this point. Will it be available for order? Of course. Will it work properly? Unknown.

Do we know if the flat bottom Alcantara wheels is indeed heated?

I don’t see why it wouldn’t be, it’s just a different covering, no difference in the wheel itself.

Previous alcantara offerings from BMW (M Performance) did not retain the heating functionality.

Still has that beaver-style grille that only a mother could love... Needs a total revamp for the front.

Oh well to those who like it, kudos to you. People have different tastes, but to me it still looks

I thought similar until I saw one in person, but I was probably biased by the hype.

In the flesh it’s actually a pretty good looking car. Lowered a tad with a square wheel setup it’s darn aggressive. I also think it has better proportions than the E and F coupe, imo, in which I preferred the sedan versions. I still like the M3 better (minus the rear door/fender interface), but the M4 is still pretty sweet.
