Have about 8,000 miles now and the rattles have settled in. Driver door card (suspect speaker/grille), passenger seat when empty, passenger door card.
I find myself driving down the expressway pushing panels, reaching over and pulling handles, pushing on the seat, all to find some peace or introduce an acceptable harmony of rattles. Still love the car, but it is getting annoying.I mentioned I traded my 50,000 mile RS5 for the 2023 M3 Comp in a different post, and that the M3 was in a different league, and it is. But at 50k miles on my RS5, there wasn’t one single rattle. I plan to ask the dealer to look into it at the upcoming service, but not expecting too much. Anyone else, is this common? This is my first BMW. |

I had a couple minor rattles from the center console and a pretty loud squeak from one of the CF buckets, but they’ve since disappeared on their own. Of course now that I’ve said that, they will return even louder than before
Oh yeah, I’m also at 8k

9km and the only rattle I have is in the sos map light unit. Took it to dealer they did their felt tape thing and now it's even worse. Will take it in and have them replace the whole unit and see if it fixes it.

I’ve had a lot of rattles and creaking from the plastic around the cup holders and wireless charging area. Sometimes worse than others. Took a while to show up, the first year was pretty silent.

Mine has had one right next to my damn head since delivery, and it happens on perfectly smooth roads too. I find if I lean into my seat hard on the left side it stops, but when I have tried to recreate it by tapping things on the seat/door card, I can't. If I move my head to try to find it, it stops. It's driving me nuts. I am starting to wonder if something is wrong with me and I need to just accept this, because I have problems like this in every single BMW I've ever had. Macan has the same problems, horrible rattles, dealer had it for a month and dropped the headliner, fixed one made 10 more new ones. I'm nervous to let any dealer tech try to fix this stuff.

My F80 was a rattle box, no matter the rattle I figured out, another would pop up... My F80 Comp was better but still a lot of rattles. My F87 M2C was so loud inside that I did not notice rattles.
The G80 is so insulated and quiet but knock on the carbon-fiber (wood), not a single rattle after 3k miles. I is soooo insulated that the other day I scraped a rear wheel and had NO idea it happened. Similar thing happened to my F80 and I cried for 5 min before getting out to check it out... |

I guess I consider myself lucky then.
My F82 did have some rattles especially the comp seats but the G80 has been perfect so far 5k miles and 15 months into ownership. |

I took a long drive with my wife today. I’ve had this M3CX for about 3 months now and haven’t had a chance to drive it much. As soon as the interior cooled down from the AC, I heard a rattle (more of a buzzing sound) from the back. I will investigate further tomorrow. This is the first car that rattled and I’ve owned numerous vehicles. I guess I’ve been lucky. Funny thing is, my wife says to me that I’ll probably use this excuse to trade this one in. I thanked her for putting ideas into my head!

Looks like some are lucky and some not so much. My rattles seem to be worse with temperature, much more prevalent on my drive home in the evening vs the AM.
My center console lid over the charger/cup holders is quite bad when closed, so I tend to leave it open most of the time. I agree trying to fix sometimes makes it worse, but I do expect more from higher end brands like BMW and higher end vehicles in those brands. |

I’ve had a F80, an F82 and now a G82. Never heard one rattle in any of them. Never any mechanical issues either.

Came here today to post about the same shit. 2k miles on a 2023 G80 103k MSRP... And here I am dealing with rattles all over this fkn car.
Came from a built RS3 that didn't rattle this much even with aftermarket engine and trans mounts. I'm assuming dealers just gonna be useless unless I can pinpoint all the rattles myself. |

Trying to get the dealer to chase rattles is largely a waste of time. They rarely take any action to address them. For my brand new F80, a dealer told me "Rattles are expected for a M car, the suspension is too stiff".
I was better off trying to isolate rattles myself and applying some cheap felt tape to certain areas on the interior. But, to a certain extent, you cant find them all, and eventually you just have to deal with it. Its a good excuse to get a new exhaust, |

On my first G80 I had rattles coming from the SOS button and from behind the infotainment screen on ID7. Took it to the dealer for both issues and they didn't do a damn thing.
On my new G80, only have 600 miles, I'm getting rattles from the driver side door (it comes and goes). Also from the cup holder cover. I took the cover out and saw a broken clip, I thought that was the culprit but nope. Still have rattle there. |

Am I the only one who read the thread title and thought this was going to be about guns?
2k miles in and rattle free and I have a G83 which are less rigid. |

Glove box rattle from new. Seems to be when colder.
Dealer looked at it during RIS and added some Velcro but it’s back. Open the glove box and it goes! Not possible with passengers. Pretty much every BMW I’ve owned has had at least one rattle. |

This is my first vehicle with rattles and I won’t take it to the dealership hoping for a remedy. Once they start taking panels off, things can get worse. It’s better to DIY or just live with it. I had my wife sit in the back seat to see if she can pinpoint the noise. It appeared to be coming from the passenger side C pillar. I gave it a few good whacks and it rattles no more. If it comes back, I’ll take the plastic panel off and apply some dynomatt. This is our second Bimmer. Our first, an X7, was trouble free.
