Thanks for sharing initial thoughts and pics on the M3 CS. The car, I couldn’t buy myself, sadly enough. But I find it great and a nice touch, when people share their interest in cars with all of us. Especially us who was not pre-selected by BMW (but still madly in love w this car). So, if there’s a new one out there in Europe, I’m still a buyer.

Great to hear! As others stated, BMW does seem to vastly improve CS models beyond spec sheet. Modern M cars intentionally kill steering feel and make suspension overly stiff at the expense of ride AND handling. CS models right that wrong and are closer to old M cars. At least that was the case for M2 and M5 CS.

I also have a 992 but will likely be starting a family soon so might have to get something more practical. I dislike the grille and ID8, but not a ton of appealing options for me currently so this could be an option.

Enjoy the car and look forward to hearing more CS reviews.

Rudeness here must be rooted in envy. With a few exceptions, everyone wants an M4, and also the M4 CS because of its unquiness and BMW M having their paintbrush on it from the factory squeezing out yet more performance from the automobile orange.

A new car post definitely isn’t the place to attempt to trash a persons car choice on the merits. Plain and simple if you are a good enthusiast.

Nice car OP. Glad you love it.

At risk of taking crap, I gotta say I wish the CS and CSL had a separate forum. Like the guy accused of being so rude... I also don't give a flip about the CS and CSL. Sure I'd be happy to have one, but I have no interest to pay for exclusivity. I'm sure it's better than a normal M3 out of the box, but I'll put my 40k toward modifications of my choosing, and tires, because I actually drive my car. So many threads about CS and CSL when there are so few actual cars... and most of them are destined to be garage queens. It's annoying to me. Now please proceed to flame me.

I think the main issue that got many people somehow triggered was the OPs sentence about how "MUCH MORE substantial and better the car is over the "regular m3".

Now, I drove the m3cs extensively, once for a test drive and once for a full day as I have an extremely good relationship with my dealer and he can arrange various dealer demo cars for me including Alpina XB7 etc.
And I call bullshit on "much more substantial", that's just not true. It's certainly a bit faster but not at a level of a "whole different car".
In fact, it drives like the m3 pretty much just feels a bit more agile and that's the weight difference.
Which is great. But it's nothing you would ever experience much on your normal drive, especially with speed limits in the US.

So, in the end it's everyone's personal preference and it's fine to get one or the other, but pretending the price difference justifies the performance of the car is just a totally moot point. Is it a special car? No doubt. Will it be a great resale value? Unless it's a limited edition, no, it won't. Proven by previous gen pretty much. In Europe, CS are sitting there actually in stock at MSRP at dealers, I can share a link if you don't believe it.

I can bet serious money that with mods under 6k I will make any m3cx obliterate a stock m3cs decisively. Throw in another 10k and you can make it also look like a CS, including the hideous front lip. Useless point, I know.
...Just like saying that it's a "way more substantial car".

So, once again, congrats on your new car and enjoy it. Possibly without calling most of the cars of other forum memers unsubstantial

Black isn’t usually my favorite, but absolutely loving it on this car, especially with the gold wheels. Thanks for the review. Congrats on the new ride!

WTF? It’s not an auto journalist/YouTuber review.

He’s posting his initial impressions on his new purchase which he’s obviously excited about (and rightly so).

For those of you with your negativity and not supporting a fellow member on his purchase, clearly says a lot of the type of person you are. You are what’s wrong in general with this world.

Congrats, OP. This is the first time I’m noticing that the G8X seems include a nod to the “Sharknose” cars in the way the hood angles out out more than the lower bumper/lip

Lol this has to be the most stupid comment I’ve read so far.

“I don’t give a flip about CS CSL” but you’d be happy to have one 🤭

“It’s annoying you” but proceeds to read OP review and is “glad he loves it”

“Wishes it had a separate forum” but proceeds to type a whole paragraph on the page, surprisingly including a single compliment to OP 🤦‍♂️

It seems like there is a lot of bitter people on this page
