as am i (week 35). at least thats what they told me when i only had a production number. and they still told me, today, that it should be completed by 8/2. mine hasnt started being built, either. i dont think its going to take them 2 weeks to build, tho. we will see. hell...there are folks that have been in Quality Check for weeks.

Genius told me today if you're stuck in Quality Check for a week or more that's a tell tale sign that your car is going to have a stop sale on it.

At first they said Week 27, but that eventually got changed to week 35.

I've been in quality check since 7/22. M4C build. No stop sales that I've been told about, and I call at least once a week. Just general lack of parts from what I've been told. I posted here what my SA was told from their inventory rep

Oh man I hope it's out of there soon. Yea that was my bad; it wasn't just stop sales necessarily but any sort of potential delay (such as part / chip shortages).

I'm build week 36 and was told my estimated production finish date is week 40. The reason for 4 weeks is to account for potential delays / shortages which is something they've started doing recently, but that it may still be the normal 1 - 2 weeks to build. I was just asking general questions and if they'd be aware of any problems / stop sales / delays during the build and he said yes but after production is finished. That's when he said that one thing to look out for is if the car is stuck in quality check for a week or longer as that unfortunately means that something is holding it back.

That's odd, I have been told production start for me is week 36 and completion week 37 (making my car a build week 37), odd that you got quoted 4 weeks

I have also been told the car will be at the dealership end of September (transport to UK is relatively quick from Germany)

@dimmy ya I don't think anyone at bmw really has a good estimate. They know what's in front of their screens. Could be a week or two, could be months… probably doing their best to manage expectations with the hundreds of people like us calling every day.

Patton250 from what I've seen on these forums, most of production should only be a week or two. If you have an M3, those seem to be moving along quicker at the Munich plant. Folks that were wk 29 are starting to get their cars this week, or their ships are getting close to docking. M4s though… 🤷*♂� I imagine it's due to BMW starting the i4s (or whatever else is at that plant - I forget) and other productions recently in Dingolfing and not having enough parts to keep up. Just my theory though.

Mine just entered production!! Well, I think it did. I have a VIN. The first page says production begins, but when you go to the timeline page, it still says scheduled.

So I was told I was getting a week 35 build, called the genius last week and they said week 36, checked today and my status changed to production begins and they generated a vin for me.

Have you called genius? That seems like a long time. I wouldn't trust the site to be accurate all the time.

Looked at a different way, they started production early. Week 35 is when production ends, this is week 34. Seems on schedule to me. If it is still on production starts next week, then I would call.
