I started this thread and now my car is ready to be picked up Monday!

Here are the options I am being offered:

1) Allstate Paint & Fabric Defense (Ceramic) - $999+tax

2) XPEL Ultimate - Full Clip Plus($2195)(full hood, full fenders, bumper, mirrors, lights, trunk ledge, A pillar, roof - 10 year warranty), Other partial options - Full Clip($1995), Gold Package($1195), Silver Package($600)

3) Extended Vehicle Protection - many options but no prices given

4) Extended Maintenance - many options but no prices given

5) GAP - up to 72 months $795, 73-84 months $850

6) Allstate Complete Protection Platinum Plus (Tire & Wheel cosmetic repair& replacement, Windshield small chips/cracks, paintless dent repair, key replacements, interior coverage less than 2') - 3 Years ($1708), 5($1778), 7($1998)

I know most people said to decline all but thought it would be helpful to compare options and pricing (this is US $ btw). Any thoughts for any services at these prices or any questions?

I've seen my dealer's service department. I've also seen their detail department.

I wouldn't trust them to do a good job on PPF / Ceramic. I've got a separate shop lined up.

Bad experiences are remembered for a good long while and tend to evoke a much more emotional response than good experiences.

Their PPF prices are in line with the market, but like said above, I'd find a reputable installer separately.

I had a bad experience with Audi a few years back. I ended up taking a $90k bath on an S8.

Long story short, I wanted to keep the car for a long time, but at 3 yrs, it needed >$30k in warranty work and Audi wouldn’t sell me an ext warranty.

I bought one for my G83 at 84 months/100k miles for $6550.

$700 for brakes, 100% go for it....my dealer offered this in the thousands price range. These brakes are a bit expensive if you go OEM, rotor-wise.

Yeah, my dealer tried to upsell me for $4500 for a brake maintenance package...on an M440 that doesn't even have the carbon ceramics. I was like uh, no. Even googled the brake pads and parts online and showed him there was no way in hell I'm paying a 20x markup for brake pads.

Brakes are maybe the 2nd easiest thing to do yourself after oil changes...plus I used to be a mechanic and told him as much.

To a certain extent, that's partly why I don't usually like working on my own stuff, but there are limits and I certainly am happy to work on my own stuff if it's quick and easy and saves me ridiculous markups.
